I have shipped though Fedex most of the time. A few times, I am asked by an employee what I am shipping. Today, I was asked and replied, " some ceramic plates" since it was a package that was about 25lb. The employee asked " Are you shipping any liquid?" and I replied "no". Before walking in, I tried to shake up the box to reduce any liquid noise and bottles/cans were standing up and packed tightly. They did take the box but I was a little shocked about the question.

Has anyone else had a situation similar to this? Is there a new policy on shipping liquid?

Until something happens don't worry about it. I have probably shipped 200 boxes, some with a lot of liquid noise, every box has made it with no problem. "If no one is chasing you, don't run".

Thanks, I have not had any issues but was kinda worried when he asked me about shipping liquid, Same Fedex I saw another friend shipping beer at before. I made sure not to wear a beer shirt walking into fedex

last two times I have shipped with FedEx I have been asked if I am shipping any liquids. I always say something like custom glassware or a fragile gift to my cousin. I never get asked anything after that. jrnyc is totally correct though, before those times I've never been asked, so nothing to fret. Cheers!

I've been hit with the "is this wine you are shipping" question once, to which I replied no, since technically I was shipping beer. That is the only time I have ever been questioned about what's in the box. All my FedEx lady says is- oh you're just dropping off, you can leave that right here.

I recently said my wife made homemade apple cider using apples from her parents tree. Also have told them my wife makes awesome organic iced teas that are infused with fruits. This has started with the first lie that my wife works works at a Williams Sonoma and gets things at a discount and ships them to people she knows from culinary school (all of this is untrue but the fedex employee has come to believe it and helps explain why I ship boxes on a semi regular basis).

Open a FedEx account. Print your label, drop off box...No questions asked. About as simple as it gets.

Unless of course...I misunderstood, and you do have an account and are getting questioned when dropping off even with label on box. If so, it must vary location to location. I've never been asked in years what's in the box or if it's liquid.

Yea I have a fedex account. once every 10 boxes or so they ask what i am shipping. If I drop off afternoon I don't get any questions but was asked a few times in the morning . But this is the first time they ask, I respond and then ask if I am Shipping liquid.

The lady at my FedEx location thinks I am a big snow globe enthusiast. I just hope she isn't in the market for one at some point and asks me for assistance.

I usually say its collectable Coke bottles that I sell on Ebay. It did mean that I got sucked into a 15 minute conversation with the clerk about how she should go about selling stuff on Ebay. Thankfully I had done that enough to know what I was talking about. Now she doesn't ask any questions.

I just tell them it's glass and ceramic art that my girlfriend makes. It's fragile and double boxed.

Once, I used a wine box as my outer box, they said I couldn't ship alcohol. I said, I'm not, it's just a free box I got at the store. Well, we can't let anything alcohol related show, so here, we'll put it in another box for you. No, says I, I'll go get my own. Took the box home, unpacked it, cut the box along the seam, turned it inside out, sealed it back up, took it back to Fedex. Oh, that box is perfect, said the same lady.

They're pretty non-confrontational at the FedEx Office (old Kinkos) in my area... Set on the counter and walk away.

I got asked if I'm shipping liquid every time I would drop a box off at UPS. Switched to FedEx and I got asked very specifically the second time I dropped off a box if I was shipping alcohol. I looked at him puzzled and said I didn't think I was able to ship alcohol through you guys. He said it was against their policy. I said well I am shipping baby safe shampoo and a blanket my wife made. Caught me completely off guard and I have not been asked anything since.
