This VA IPA kind of grows on you. No, not like a fungus but maybe an established taste? Anyway, although not my favorite VA IPA I got no problem buying more.

There is no logical reason why this tune surfaced in my gray matterr. But it is what it is.

Checking out the 1/25/17 canning of Morph - my first ever...

Great stuff - guess they change it up every release? This one's got Citra, Columbus, and Motueka hops - a nice blend of pith and pine, lots of citrus, slightly "dank" around the edges - soft and lush feeling, moderate bitterness and ample carbonation - really digging it...

    Cheers...

    Damn, I'm glad I don't own a guinea pig this week, right, @WesMantooth?? :slight_frown:

(ha, the whole Airplane glue-sniffing thing almost seems an appropriate video here to me, but it's really not...)

What is up. I'm having a Moon man and watching the Badgers piss me off. I was having a pretty good day until the second half. Oh well it's only February. Cheers!

First stop on the Kansas City Tap Tour. My beer resolution for '17 is to try more local beers. Fortunately, Visit KC launched this awesome guidebook, and I managed to wrangle 16 (yes, 16) coworkers to follow me around and drink local beer. First stop: Crane. It's the closest to my house. I've enjoyed several of their beers, but it was nice to visit the taproom. They had plenty of things on tap you could only get in-house. Delicious stop. I also snagged my first Teku glass (hint, it's in the photo, and yes I did pay for it).

I'm enjoying a Firestone Walker Velvet Merlin right now. Cheers.

Whats up WBAYDNers! Kicking this evening off with a BA stout because I clearly want to be hung over tomorrow morning.

This is a surprisingly well done BA stout from Schlafly. Love the 12 oz formatting.

Good evening BA, hope everyone had a good Thursday. Another long and busy day. Got 2 more assignments given to me today. I have a feeling I will be pulling some extra overtime hours on the weekend again. Got my bottle returns cleared up, and found 1 more 6 pack of Xocoveza on the shelf. Along with some mixed singles.

    Today's reviews:

Great DIPA! Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berry, lemon/orange peel, light pepper, and pine hops; with moderate honey, lightly toasted bread, and light caramel malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine/rind/spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium-plus bodied; balanced bready/grainy malts and hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Light resin/rinds with increasing dryness from lingering bitterness; minimal lingering hop astringency. Very bright, dank, and juicy hops; with a nice malt backbone. Very well attenuated for the 9%, not sweet or heavy feeling. Lightly warming and very smooth drinking. Will buy again. 4

Really good stuff. Aromas and flavors of juicy/tangy peaches, lemon, apricot, green apple, pear, white grape, cherry, berries, oak, hay, straw, and light leathery funk; with some wheat/crackery malts; a touch of oaken vanilla and white vinegar. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness and light yeast/tannic oak spiciness on the finish. Medium bodied; balanced bready/grainy wheat, acidity, and light tannins in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate acidic/tannic dryness; zero pucker/astringent flavors. Far less acidic and funky than others I've had in the Spontaneous series; this still provides nice levels of complexity, and very well balanced flavors. Very drinkable due to the mellow lacto intensity. 3.78

Being the hot sauce lover I am, I went ahead and grabbed this one recently. 2015 vintage(I think they toned it down with later batches?). This was damn good! Aromas and flavors of big grapefruit, orange peel, raisin, cherry, plum, chili peppers, pine, caramel, honey, brown sugar, toffee, and toasted biscuit; with underlying vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, nutty/roast malts, and pepper smoke. Light-moderate pine/citrus peel bitterness and pepper spice on the finish. Medium-full bodied; balanced bready creaminess and hop/pepper stickiness in the mouthfeel. Lightly slick and resinous; with increasing bitter/spicy dryness. Never astringent at all. Lightly warming 9.6%; with lingering and increasing pepper heat. Never overwhelming. Insanely smooth sipper. I was a big fan of this! Nice kick of pepper spice/heat, but otherwise really great balanced base beer with malt, hop, and barrel complexity. Habanero Sculpin is probably 25-50% more intense than this one; and I buy that beer fairly often. Extremely palatable pepper beer all around. 4

Going to do a combo pack here because I got stuck on the phone betwixt beer #1 and beer #2 explaining the move to Texas to Mom.

First up, a really nice DIPA from New Holland. I love me some Mosaic hops.

#2, I'm not sure what is tropical about this stout, but I know I think it's phenomenal, IMHO.

Well I am repeating yesterday's run (for the most part) Started with this weeks cliche but it is sure tasty, gotta enjoy it while I can.

Then onto A Frootwood. I don't usually do fruit beer but tried it. Yesterdays was a great look, nice aroma, decent taste but it coated the tongue too much on the back end, a bit too sweet for me to. But I had so so I popped the second one and she was flatter than the Mesopotamian earth. Bad Quality Control/ or bad handling afterwards? I only had it a day so it wasn't name lol

Still tastes OK, feels more like wine though. When in Rome....
