Great American brown ale as usual. Flavors of big caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, and toffee; with lighter chocolate, cocoa, and nutty malts; and some light herbal, grassy, peppery, citrusy hops. Touch of dark fruit. Light herbal/spicy bitterness. Medium bodied with a really nice creamy/bready mouthfeel; light hop/roast stickiness, and a bit of increasing dryness. Touch silky. Really great malt complexity and mouthfeel; and not as hoppy or drying as I remember past years. Great balance. I had to revisit this review a few months ago. Definitely my go-to fall brown now. I'll keep buying singles as I see them.

Always excellent IPA, one of my classic favorites. Flavors of bright grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, and spicy herbal/floral/grassy hops; with light caramel/bready malt balance. Moderate pine/rind/grassy bitterness. Smooth, crisp, and sticky hop mouthfeel; with some grainy/creamy malt balance. Drying, lightly resinous finish. Great Cascade/Centennial/Willamette hop complexity. Almost finished off the 6 pack I bought last month. Still under 2 months old, super fresh.

Incredible as usual. Flavors of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, cinnamon, vanilla, cream, nutmeg, chile pepper, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, and toasted brown bread. Light roast/spice bitterness on the finish. Medium-full bodied; great creamy/silky mouthfeel, with some light sticky/chalky roast/spice notes as well. Lightly drying. Zero pepper heat. Balance is pretty much perfect between spices and stout flavors. Just got my 3rd(and likely last) 6 pack of the season tonight. Had Charred on Sunday. Very comparable and just as impressive, but had a much smooth/silkier mouthfeel from the barrel aging.

Incredible as always. Flavors of huge dark roasted coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, toasted dark bread, and light smoke/charred malts; with some herbal/light piney hops. Bittersweet roast/char balanced finish. Creamy/silky full body; with some sticky/chalky roast in the mouthfeel. Increasing roast/char dryness, but not astringent. Enormous on coffee with great malt complexity; and balanced hop/roast bitterness. It's pretty hoppy when really fresh. This is around 4 months old, and more balanced now. Very comparable to Founders Breakfast stout in flavor/complexity. One of my top favorite coffee stouts of all time. It's been available year round now, since the Shelton distributor M4 finally got higher volume on deliveries. I can get it anywhere now. 2015 was much more limited(just re-entered the state then).

So apparently Kreator released a new album on the 27th, had no idea. Amazing so far. I need to update my music library this weekend. So many amazing new metal albums this year already.

This just got released last week. Forgot about this band completely. Amazing Melodeath. Need to catch up on the rest of their discography since 2012 or so. I only have the first 3 albums.

New Belgium Imperial Voodoo Ranger. This is OK, but not what I would expect from an imperial IPA. Better than the regular but that's about it.

Good evening BAs! Today is my Friday, have to stay home for the electrician to come and do plenty of work at the house tomorrow. Should probably stop buying beer for a while after that bill comes. :stuck_out_tongue::astonished:

Being my Friday night though, decided to crack a big boy. Enjoying Goose Island Grand Prestige...

This is excellent. Gorgeous beer. Deep brown color, ample light mocha head that retains into a thick ring around the edge and thin layer across the top. Good lacing too. Aroma is delightful but simple. Bourbon forward, notes of vanilla, chocolate, malt, oak. The taste is even better, still spirit forward, but with additional characteristics of molasses, toastiness, brown sugar. Slightly dry, boozy finish. Probably should have bought more than one at $8.99.

Time to catch up on posts...I have about 700 more ML to do so! :grimacing:

    Enjoy your Friday everybody!

I had a car where at about 80,000 miles lights started to go on and off all the time. It ran fine and I got sick of looking at them so eventually I got some black electrical tape and covered them up. It went about another 100,000 miles like that.

Man I love this beer- Great Lakes Chillwave. My first of the year, but I don't think one is going to be enough.

That pretty funny and sounds like a good solution to me!

The fact that mine is a European car scares me even more!! :slight_frown:
