No, not even close. It's the charred oak that gives bourbon barrel aged beers their flavor, not straight bourbon.

Tried a side-by-side with BA Ten Fidy and regular Ten Fidy with Woodford added. Didn't taste anything like the BA but it was still pretty yummy :stuck_out_tongue:

In this matter, I will defer to the gentleman from Kentucky.

Even though I don't totally agree, this is one of the best posts I have seen on this forum in years. I like your style dude.

That's what they charge for the 22 oz bottles :grimacing:

That's just not right for 12oz bottle , 2016 Sucaba was $14 for 22oz bottle.

Great price, unfortunately that never happened on the East Coast, cheapest Sucaba was $17.99.

I'm so bummed that Sucaba is is not coming out this year. It's my favorite beer. I usually buy 2 bottles every year, and I have a pretty good vertical going. I guess it's time for me to start drinking my aged ones. The FW vintage beers were worth the $ to me, but there is no way I'm paying $15 for 12 oz.

Maybe you mean NYC rather than East Coast. I've purchased it for closer to 14 over here.

Was looking forward to trying this one . Sounds like I can get 1 bottle here but it's $13.99 for 12oz . The 22oz reserve beers were about $18 if you were lucky enough to find them . XX was about $23 .

Will still get one if I can get it but I'm not too happy about the changes . Kinda like the 12oz bottles but if I can only find one then I would rather have things the way they were .

Yup. If their goal was to make more money, then congrats.

But if their goal was to make it more available as they stated, this release (and all of their 2017 releases) is completely botched. Here in NorCal, I found it for $10.99 (not horrible, but a markup nevertheless and far more costly than their $16 22s) and limit 1 per person. So I pay more for less. And I am still limited to one. Completely a lose for the customer. and I love FW.

Seconded. I think this has to be the general consensus.

    Hit Illinois today.

Binnys has it for $10.99, limit by me was 2 per. Other stores are/were limit 4 per.

Perfect opportunity to do the full vertical and not get behind. The hardest part for me in doing a vert is choosing when to call the cut-off (i.e. right after a new year or right before).

Not to be nit-picky, but they absolutely succeeded in making it more available, especially if more people skip it because of the price.

Ha! Imaginary press release: "In an effort to make our beer more available to a wider audience, we've priced out many former customers."

I agree about the price change being a turn off, most beers it seems when shifting from 22oz to 12oz decrease in price per ounce. Still hasn't shown up here at the local bottle shop that was charging $19 per bomber last year for Firestone barrel aged and I'm sure the price will be $12-14 if they ever get it.
