The price of anything goes down the more you buy at a time so of course the price goes up per oz when you're buying only 12oz per unit instead of 22 oz. I don't see any problem with it, it makes sense. I'll still buy at least 6 bottles of each of these releases like I always do.

That logic fails utterly when it comes to beer as has been proven and recounted numerous times in here and why there is such disdain fro bombers and 750s. The price per oz is higher in those formats almost every single time.

Of course, I'll pay extra for it if I want it. But you missed the bigger issue: It's still limit 1 per person.

Hell, when it was $15.99, it was 2pp at BevMo. Now it's 1pp at $10.99. That's a failure.

So I can't even have more unless I employ mules or come back the next day (which I'm not really sure is in the spirit of 1 per person.)

The purpose wasn't for one person to get more bottles, it was to get more bottles to more people. Success. If X represents 22oz format and Y represents 12oz format, the total number of bottles of Y is greater than X - that is what they intended and that is what they did.

No it doesn't. Of course the price is higher in those formats, you're only buying a bomber or 750 compared to a six pack. The price per oz goes down when you buy a six pack or case because you're buying more at a time. As I said it makes sense that bombers cost more because you're buying less oz per unit. This FW situation is like that but the difference is we are stepping down to 12oz singles from 22oz instead of the normal 22oz down from six pack.

Touche. Well, you got me there.

Although I do think the outcome is debatable. My BevMo only kept Bravo in the back when asked, and said I was the only person who asked.

It was on the self today at BevMo Blossom Hill at 10.99/bottle. The 22oz vintage beers used to be $1 less at BevMo than at Firestone ($15.99 vs $16.99), so I was surprised to see the 12oz a dollar more.

Werent people earlier in this thread saying people should stop complaining about the price and the 12oz format would actually be less $ per oz because FW claimed it would be $10 per bottle?

Wait, you guys are finding these at BevMos? I haven't seen them at the two stores I've been to in my neck of the woods.

That wouldn't make sense, even $10 a bottle is significantly more per ounce than the 22oz format. MSRP on the 22oz was $15.99 and for these it's $10.99. Some places did and still will charge more than that but no matter what it has to be more per ounce because we're buying less oz per unit.

That's the whole point in doing this, generating more profit. I may be in the minority here but I want my favorite breweries to be more profitable so they can keep doing what they're doing. Hell I'd donate money to my favorite breweries if I had to but I don't because they can just do something like a format change to make more money when they need it. As long as they keep making great beer I'm happy. Price shouldn't be an issue when it comes to buying these specialty beers. Enjoying them is a luxury and either you can afford it or you can't but no one should complain about price.

Where are the people complaining about prairie barrel aged beers being $12per 12oz or Lost Abbey at $17... ??

$10 is a good deal for a beer of this caliber and this format. Sorry it's not $9.27 like you want it to be.

73 cents, people. You all are complaining about pennies and dimes here, literally. Except those who have issues with getting limited to 1 12oz over 1 22oz, I feel ya.

Absolutely agreed. At least in Northern Virginia, Firestone Walker box beers are so limited that I can rarely grab any of them. At least with this release, I was able to grab 3 of the Bravos. I am certainly a beneficiary of the new format. When I'm looking to purchase Firestone Walker box beers, price is not even a consideration.

They were already a steal at 15-18$ per bomber. $10 per 12oz is still very competitive given how incredible they are.

They are still the best value for barrel aged beer out there.

$7.99 a bottle at Costco in CA. I hope that continues throughout the year.

Can't type it all on my phone but the gist of it would be they just cut a few loved beers from their portfolio. Double Jack will be like an urban legend. Then they raise the price of what they still have and piss off half their customer base.
