Wicked Weed - Rare Barrel Collab announced...

I'd bet it lasts through the weekend. No real inside info, just a guess based off how they're handling the release.

 

Based on some conversations I've had with people that are closer to the brewery than I am, I'm starting to get a bit more worried about the release. I was planning on getting there when I got there on Friday (maybe 6, maybe 7), but I've also heard they don't have a ton of it. That seems weird to me considering how its being run, with a case limit and all...

 

To late to edit: Nevermind about being worried about the release. I must have overheard wrong. Back to thinking that with a case limit they have a decent amount.

 

I was told from a bottle shop owner they "have a ton of it".

 

Well this just made my day.



Amazing beer and was priced at 10$ Last year.

 

Probably the wrong thread for this, but yeah that beer is amazing, it was one of the only WW bottles I would buy all year round for the price and taste. (Personally, most WW bottles are too far outside of my price range for a pint of beer)

 

Does anyone know if they will have the collab on draught?

 

The rare barrel has it on draft, so I would assume.

 

Thanks, I looked at the tap list and did not see it or on their original post. will definitely be picking up some bottles.

 

If they have it on draft they almost certainly wouldn't put it on draft until today, which means the tap list wouldn't be updated until the release anyway.

 

I've heard no draft at WW.Also a $23 plus tax price point. I usually look at the quantities this way. If they say nothing then they have a crap load of it.

 

It's on draft at Wicked Weed starting at 4PM today.

So, for the folks that went, how is it?

 

I thought it was quite decent. A couple of us commented and thought it was more Rare Barrel than Wicked Weed perhaps.

 

Did you try this batch of Garçon yet? As good as last years?

 

Any word on bottles left over today?

 

Not IMHO, much more belgiany than last years and less fruit. Some people might really like that though, still a great beer for the price, but I always want more fruit in my sours.

 

I read a few comments like that had me a tad discouraged. Was planning on grabbing a couple of cases tomorrow. I'll have to try it and see if I still love it like I did the last batch.

 

I didn't. I had the Happy Blending and the other beer they had that I hadn't had yet (Botanica), didn't stick around longer than that since we wanted to hit up Burial quickly and then get back to town for a bottle share.

They posted on FB that they had 80 cases left.
