Sorry guys. To clarify, I have 1 bottle GA and got a wristband. Not sure about the no bottle GA if they have a wristband for that or not.

 

Their website is very outdated. They will definitely have much more on tap than what the website states. As other have mentioned, it could go either way regarding their heavy hitters because of the Wakefest event but maybe you get lucky and they still have DFPF on tap.

 

The Abbey on Miami Beach is a must. Father Theodore's stout is regularly on tap and I highly recommend. All the other recommendations you have received on this thread are very good. Funky Buddha is 40 minutes away in Oakland Park and Civil Society is farther - about 1.5 hours drive away in Jupiter, Florida.

In Coconut Grove, there is Lokal (Kush in Wynwood is their sister restaurant) as well as Barracuda's (dive bar with gems on tap from time to time), as well as Taurus (amazing whisk(e)y selection with solid brews too).

 

Not sure exactly what the complaints were about but there were definitely complaints and as a GA ticket holder who really wanted Label Us Notorious, I got screwed but oh well.

 

Thanks for the info. I'm hoping there are a few sours/berliners to try, fruited or not. Idk if those are what are considered the brewery's whales or not, vs. barrel aged high abv stuff. To nobody's surprise, the girlfriend has turned into a big sour fan.
Is DFPF the Dragon Fruit Passion Fruit Berliner, if yes i'm guessing it's a popular one. Hope so too.

Wakefest was a blast. Only complaints were that the VIP checkin took awhile so most of that line didn't get in until 11:30ish and there weren't enough bathrooms.

Outside of those two minor issues, it was one of the better events I've experienced

 

I didn't go to the fest, but I am living vicariously thru some friends' Untappd check-ins right now

 

Best beer event thrown in South Florida by a mile, kudos to the Wakefield crew for making this happen. Practically no lines for beer besides Toppling Goliath. Getting to try beers from top breweries from all over the country makes you appreciate Wakefield even more, their stuff just stands out.

 

Didn't really get screwed because that bottle was never promised to you.

We have it pretty damn good when it comes to beer here in South and Central Florida.

 

Very good event, good size, very good beer selection. Bottle pickup was a cluster, but oh well.

 

What was the deal with Desperado bottles? Hard to find details...

2016 Desperado was among my favorites of the year... just wondering how hard it'd be to get a bottle from the new batch.

 

It was included with the VIP package.
