Good morning BA, have a great Sunday! Looking to be a warm, but regular day for me. Got some more work stuff to do, take my bottle returns in, and then laundry. I did some reorganizing and updating of my music library last night. Not totally caught up on the new metal releases for the year yet. Still need to do some trimming on the stuff I never listen to anymore. My library is up to 207 GB now; mostly metal, Prog, and classic rock.

Amazing American porter as always. Finishing off the 6 pack. Flavors of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toasted dark bread, and light nutty/smokey malts; with some floral/piney hops. Moderate pine/roast bitterness; with a creamy/silky and lightly sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel. Lightly drying. I slightly prefer the Great Lakes over this rating-wise, but you can't go wrong with either for a classic style representation. I still buy both of them nearly equally as often.

Fantastic DIPA. Flavors of big tangerine, pineapple, peach, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, grapefruit, lemon/orange zest, light pepper, and pine hops; with some light honey/biscuity malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus peel/spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium bodied; moderate sticky/resins and fair amount of grainy malt balance in the mouthfeel. Increasing bitter dryness, never astringent. Incredibly smooth and drinkable with fairly tame bitterness. A lot lighter bodied than I expected for 8.5%. Just enough malt for balance. Very bright and juicy hops. Minimal ABV warming. I originally heard this was supposed to be imperial-ized Sculpin; but this is definitely lighter on the malt presence, less aggressively bitter, and more tropical/fruity on the hops. Motueka, Simcoe, and Citra hops. Love it.

Outstanding quad! Glad these are year round and 4 packs now. Flavors of raisin, plum, fig, date, lightly tart cherry, apple, pepper, clove, brown sugar, brown bread, toffee, vanilla, toasted oak, bourbon, coconut, and yeast earthiness. Moderate peppery yeast/oak spice and light fruit tartness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium-full bodied Creamy/grainy with slight slick/syrupy notes in the mouthfeel; but still ending nicely crisp and drying from carbonation. Awesome barrel balance, with great well rounded complexity from yeast and malts. Very smooth sipping, mildly warming 11.9%. I think I should buy a full 4 pack soon. Great price. Hoping to see Sixth Glass 4 packs around here soon.

2015 is tasting amazing as usual. Huge flavors of caramel, raisin, cherry, fig, date, apricot, apple, toffee, brown sugar, brown bread, bourbon, and toasted oak; with light notes of molasses, vanilla, and coconut. Light balancing bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish against the sweetness. Minimal warming or barrel booziness. Very smooth sipping; with a very creamy, silky, and slightly slick/syrupy full body mouthfeel. Love this the most after at least 1 year of age to smooth out the boozy barrel notes. Just grabbed another 2015 4 pack off the shelf a couple weeks ago. This is better than SMS for me, but this just sits around all year while the stout flies off the shelf. No complaints about that. English Barleywines are my #1 style. Need to get some of the new SMS though, higher ABV this year. Need to compare it to last year's.

    Cheers

A 6 pack is a lot, especially at the price, but it is actually pretty good. Coin flip if it is worth it or not?
