Notable Releases - DC/NOVA/MD

So if I'm driving into DC from Falls Church, what's the best/most convenient place to score some Singlecut cans?

 

dtc had some on thursday or friday. guessing it went quickly

 

I opened a can last night and really dug it. Maybe my 2nd favorite of the Singlecut beers to hit DC behind SSMS. It's a total tropical fruit bomb in the best possible way without much bitterness.

 

Agree completely. I had 2 cans over the weekend, and going to try to get more.

 

Maybe I'm trying the wrong ones, because I've tried 2 of the Council 3-4% ABV sour saisons (3 berry and Pineapple Tart) so far and have been kinda underwhelmed. Three Berry was very 1 dimensional vinegar sour without much complexity at all. Not bad beers, just a lot better options in sours for that price range.

 

Has FW Bravo hit the area yet?

 

It was in NoVA at the end of last week.

 

CBC on H St NE usually has some in stock.

 

They currently only have Workers Are Going Home at a 2 pp limit, but there were plenty on the shelf as of last night.

 

Finding parking near CBC is a huge hassle though. I guess you could illegally park in the Giant parking garage for a bit.

My office just moved from K Street to Penn & 12th NW, so WF Foggy Bottom and Conn Ave will likely no longer be my go-to's. Can anyone recommend good stores within walking distance?

I see that there's a place nearby called Imperial with good Yelp reviews, but it seems to be mostly for liquor selection...will probably check it out this week...

 

^ There's nothing down that way. Best bet is WFP. Modern Liquors near the Conv Center has an OK selection, but they gouge like crazy for anything good.

 

This is why I'll only go over there early Sat morning. Yes! Eastern Market seems to have the cheapest SingleCut prices - $6.99. No limits as well. Still had a bunch WAGH yesterday. Parking isn't much better though.

 

I had never been to Modern Liquors until a couple weeks ago when I stopped in after eating dinner nearby. Was initially excited to see a bottle of Regal and a bottle of Rare, until I found out the Regal was $40 and the Rare was $150 and then understood why they were still there.
