I was just thinking the same thing about all 3 DDH flavors.... wonder if Kane will do cans or at least growlers.

 

I don't get the point of these tap takeovers that start at noon on a weekday. Who's going to these things??

 

At first I was like I wish I could go to this, but then I was like I'm grateful I have a job and I'm not drinking at noon in the middle of the week

There are a lot of people that don't work traditional M-F 9-5 jobs. I'm not one of them, but if I was, I would definitely go to this.

 

I know a lot of people don't work 9-5, but I figure a fairly small part of the working world is off completely on Wednesdays. You have to admit that a noon start in the middle of the week is out of most people's norm. Why not a 4 or 5 pm start? Just curious.

 

Well, you can always find a new job, but coconut ANTEAD on the other hand......

 

I have a regular M-F job, but if I lived closer I'd probably take the afternoon off (and I guess the next day would have to go with that...)

 

Probably catered towards the service industry most head chefs/bartenders managers are off Wed or Monday

 

These tap takeovers are absolute madhouses start to finish, if they started it at the peak hour (after office hours) you literally would not be able to get in the door. I was at the Carton takeover last year and folks were in line before opening. The early start helps thin out the crowd over the course of the day IMO, and generally only the timed releases sell out in less than a couple hours.

 

Could also just be a way to keep the crowd under control. While I know they are in the business of making money and want as many people there as they can get, it also gets to a point where you don't want to be way over capacity or selling out of everything within an hour.

 

Jesus. Sometimes hearing these things makes me think my devotion to craft beer is not so "out there" comparitively.

 

How long do taps usually last at these takeovers? Wondering If I stroll in after work if DDH Sneakbox would still be available

 

My guess is that it won't be crazy at noon. At 2 it will be packed for ANTEAD.

I have no real basis for this. Every time they do one of these it's different.

 

There are enough hoppy beers that it should last.

 

"Third Reed" is bothering me.

 

My best guess is that it will not last the day but there is a fair chance it is there til 6 or 7

 

The same people who wait at Magnify on a Friday at 2 or at Tired Hands on a Wednesday before 5.

Not saying anything negative, just that it seems like there are plenty of people who have the luxury of doing this. I technically could, but still don't.
