Hmmmm, perhaps they sent a case? Their response to someone when asked was that it was a Summerhill release only

They only had 8 in Ottawa when I checked this morning. 250 plus in Summerhill. Was originally listed at $9.95 but someone corrected that late last night or early today. Damn!!
Was going to head out and get myself to bottle or two today. Not a bad price if you compare it to $30 USD across the border. But it's still $35!

Let me know if you are able to purchase.

Ya for sure. I'll see if I can get them to price match the original release price as well.

And Summerhill showing no inventory now. Glad I didn't head there for that let down. As @Jerk_Store mentioned it might be earmarked for a special release and it was just a chain jerk. :slight_frown:

This puts that $16 Beau's thing to shame.

A few people got into it with staff at Summerhill as it was listed in store at 9.95. They were trying to get people to pay 35 :grimacing: Pulled off the shelves now.

Don't shoot the messenger, but just saw that 9000 bottles of Founders KBS has been ordered by LCBO

LCBO website says 8 bottles of Gillian in Ottawa only. LCBO iPhone app showing the same 8 bottles plus another 209 at Summerhill. Best to call before going I'd say. And yes, someone on Bartowel reporting that LCBO is in for that Founders KBS haul, but can only assume not until it is released in April.

The Gillian inventory has been all over the map the last couple of days. Checked it earlier today and 2300 Yonge (at Eglington) had 39. Was going to call and check but decide to forgo it until it was somewhere more easily accessible.

Sounds like Gillian has definitely been yanked for a special Summerhill-only release on Feb 8.

We just somehow managed to get Kentucky Bastard over here in Manitoba, but it's not even showing up at our government liquor stores, just ONE beer vendor. That in itself is bizarre, because as far as I was aware, those vendors can only sell products that the government brings into their own stores.

Either way, I picked up two bottles. Too bad they were so pricey. $21.50 each.

    Looking forward to trying one.

This is an amazing thing to hear. Maybe one day Canada will get CBS.

All Day is coming in kegs and Founders are saying they're committed to being in Ontario long term, so that's terrific news. Cautiously optimistic that CBS is coming back this year. Wether it does and hits Canada remains to be seen still. But hey, I'll take KBS any day of the week!

I hate to be pessimistic and all and I wasn't into craft back then but having done some research didn't founders have a deal with the LCBO back in 2013 that fell through? I would love KBS to be available but I'm always skeptical until these things happen. I mean even now the LCBO's permanent slots for international craft breweries remains quite limited.

I guess we'll see. As for international beers on LCBO shelves, they have a release list for every season that excludes domestic product. While it's a far cry from independent shops in the US and overseas, it's still way, way further ahead than what we're getting from SAQ (using them as a comparable as I'm on the QC/ON border). I can't say wether the LCBO has "deals" in place or simply go back to where contacts have been established, but just sharing what information I got based off exchanges with Founders on social media. So yeah, for what it's worth

Fair enough, I hope what they told you is correct. I think we've been through it before but I'm in the West Island and my parents are in Hawkesbury so it would be nice to see some KBS at the LCBO there. Sadly their beer manager doesn't keep things up to date and the last time I found Stone IPA there it was 5 months past the best before date... :slight_frown: but we can definitely hope

Did you get in touch with Horizon Beers to sort that out? I can't imagine you'll get much interest from the beer buyer at the store, but at least you could get a rep to buy it out or swap it for fresh stuff.
