Idaho 7 blew me away. I guess Galaxy is my favorite easily accessible hop.

I do like nelson, mosaic, and citra, but also mandarina bavaria, hallertau blanc, and hull melon. Bring on the fruit!

At YCH hop-school they showed a chart of oils vs AA for Cascade hops. This had data from different farms and fields on those farms. Guess what, the range was about 2:1 for both axes. They said that was due to drift, and sometimes other hops get mixed into the field. The chart for Simcoe was much tighter, as it is newer and has more oversight as a trademarked hop.

Yeah, it can be good, Drink a SNPA.

I love the mango muskiness that citra brings, but columbus is right up there too.

I'm sure I mentioned Citra in this thread, but I can't remember if I posted how much I liked Chinookered from Lawsons as far as single hop brews go.

I like noble hops . East kent goldings, fuggles, hallertau, tettenang and saaz. I am going to go vote other. I also like belma hops, and those that taste like green bell pepper- equinox. If you ask me, vic secret is a really great hop but I have only seen it twice and in combination with ella and others.

I just came here to reiterate how awesome Mosaic hops are: They're awesome!

I remember when I commenced the disaster that was my homebrew about 3yrs ago and I went to the homebrew supplier and they let me sniff all the hop pellet bags - I was instantly enamoured with Mosaic, that mango/pineapple/citrus character was amazing... too bad my IPA was shite.

Nelson because it's so unique and Trillium DDH Stillings Street may be the best beer I've ever had.

Cascade, Hallertauer Mittelfrueh, and EK Golding. Each handles a different type of beer really well.

For newer school, I totally dig Citra, too. Thing is, I find that it's really only particularly noteworthy in a few styles. Cascade is far more multi-purpose.

My favorite-tasting hop is Citra. It's pretty good in beer, too.

Hard to answer the poll, so I'll say I'm a HUGE fan of these:

    Citra, Mosaic, Nelson, Galaxy.

Creeping on a come up lately in the "newish" hop category is:

    Calypso- really digging that one.

Pretty much love most of the choices in the poll though.

There's a new hop that flying dog used as a single hop dipa called Denali. It's was like a lemon pineapple flavor. I'd like to see that used more.

It's cringing to me to see so many citra answers. I just find them to be so one noted and boring. eh to each their own. To each their own tho, it is good to have so many choices these days.

Seriously, aside from galaxy.. Simcoe is far and away my favorite hop. This is coming from an NEIPA drinker. The way hill farmstead utilizes Simcoe and Amarillo is absolutely phenomenal

Citra is a great hop in some instances but all it produces is an orange zest character. Galaxy on the other hand can come across in one beer (Beats is Infinite by Monkish) as citrusy, bubblegum-like piney, dank and doughy. Mosaic is one that everyone hypes up but I really avoid. It tastes like darker berries to me which overpowers all other hops. If I want berries I’ll get a good BA beer but a thing least Mosaic has some diversity. Simcoe has that catty quality which I find wonderfully drinkable when added to another hop like Amarillo or Citra.
Newest favorite hop I’ve had is Enigma. That stuff has the good from mosaic without the takeover and shares some qualities of Simcoe as well at least from my taste buds
