Unfortunately they aren't open on mondays.

I doubt they run out on Friday. Cliffs of Tephra hung around for a few days and that was with either a 4x or 6x 4-pack limits.

Yeah, Cliffs was there until midway through the next week, I believe.

I'll give this a try Friday night from my four pack. I thought AL was pretty solid, so I'm excited for an 8% version. Not sure how many beers I've had with Equinox in 'em, but I typically really like oniony IPAs.

I think it's only a matter of time. 1) Because they're already experimenting with hazier beers (Animal Law, Fog Bowl), 2) because they're messing around with Tired Hands' yeast (I think it was yeast, at least, in Big Sting) and 3) because I can't see anyone who is as prolific with their IPAs as HA is, entirely passing on giving the NE style a try. I would imagine curiosity alone will get the best of them.

Not to mention the fact that last year's on-tap version of Beer Hates Astronauts was pretty opaque and had a fuller mouthfeel than the bottled version (kind of like Sue in bombers vs. cans).

Hope they bring back Canyon of Heroes for a canning run this year.

Excited for this friday. I thought Cliffs was fantastic. Even more so after sitting for a couple of weeks.

@Vicodin_Tears thanks for the heads up. I didn't realize that (I'm new to Chicago and should have checked their hours of course!). Maybe I'll try to make it there Sunday night then if they still have some.

Anyone at HA yet? Do they have taproom pours of Topanga? Are they hazy? Looks like the canned version is not hazy based off their instagram pic.

Not sure where the hazy expectations come from when HA describes it as "earthy, full, dank, piney and a touch of candy". Plus, Topanga is in California.

I think Animal Law was hazy, and since this is based on it, that's why.

I don't really care either way, but I assumed it would be somewhat hazy as well. Cliffs wasn't though, and was still fantastic, so I'm cool.

My Animal Law check-in photo is a bit hazy. Maybe it was the "pine sap" descriptor in AL they based Topanga Gulch off of. I'm having one now and it is very dank and piney with a nice balance of sweetness yet still on the dry side. I didn't have Cliffs, but this is a solid DIPA.

I stopped by around 12:30 and saw a bunch on the floor and in the cooler. I was the only one in the retail shop.

This is a joke but seriously... I swung by to determine if I wanted to deal with the line or not and then when I saw that literally two people were there I realized, "oh yeah, it isn't 'hazy and juicy' so nobody gives a shit."

Topanga is really tasty if you like beer more than fruit juice . Honestly I like it and 5 Rabbit's Ironica a lot more than most of the hype IPAs so far this year.
