Finally made its way to the Boston area today. I got it for $10.50 a bottle, but of course it's a 1 bottle limit.

At least you're allowed to buy less than a case at a time now, right? Baby steps? My buddy lives in Philly - my heart goes out to you folks.

Where'd you find it? I've been calling CBC & Lincoln Liquors periodically the past couple weeks and . . . nothing

I also like a bomber for a few reasons. Enjoying the characteristics of the beer at different temps and for sharing with a friend or two.

12oz bottles are the way of the future. I love that FW is doing this. I can now consume it by myself or share with friends.

I don't have a problem with 12 ounce bottles of high abv stuff, I used to be against bombers of big stuff as it is too much for me to drink in one sitting, but I just drink the bombers over 2 days. I put a wine stopper in the bottle and next day just about as good as new.

Bourbon County Stout and Barleywine when not infected are as good or better than Parabola or Sucaba but the others I cant agree with. Central Waters Anniversary Stouts are amazing but the small format bottles dont compare, they are great for what they are tho. Black Note has never impressed me but maybe BA Expo is better?

I can't comment on the barleywine comparison, but I definitely disagree that Parabola takes a back seat to BCBS. It's far more consistent and superior in my experience. For my palate I've even found batches of KBS I like better than BCBS. TETO

Disappointed with the 1 bottle limit most stores are offering on the 12oz. Would have preferred the bomber even if that means higher price or sharing.

16 BCBW was so much better than 16 Sucaba.

I think people were willing to go along with the rise in price per ounce as long as it was in the same general range, which the $9.99 suggested price range was (~$0.20 more per ounce). $11 or $12 feels like getting a lot less for almost the same price. Granted, that may be due to store or distributor behavior so it can't all be laid at FW's feet, but this is all a result of their decision.

Basically, they just raised the price of all their BA beers across the board. I think if they had just raised bomber prices a buck or two, people wouldn't have freaked out (as much). When they came up with all these reasons why switching to 12 ounce bottles that all seem like justifications for raising prices, it kind of sucks.

I don't know, while drinking the one Bravo I picked up, I couldn't help think 'for a couple bucks more I could have four bottles of backwoods bastard'. (that is, if anyplace had it)

don't get me wrong, it was good. but i'll stock up on a few more packs of BB this year

I believe I saw some on-line last week/early this week, not sure why I did not pick some up. I might have put my order in already. Maybe it might be around locally.

    Cheers!

I understood the Box and price of the Anniversary series. Then they started putting the other 'vintage reserve' in the box and increased the price, but OK, they are still really damn good. Now they are dropping down to 12oz bottles... and still putting them in boxes.

Going to the store today and seeing it sitting there on the counter, I couldn't help but laugh and think "now they are just getting pretentious". Either put it in a 4-pack, without the stupid, waste-of-money box, or keep the format. These 'luxury' 12oz bottles just serve no purpose. 12oz is a perfect serving size for drink-now and the best value in a 4/6 pack. That value is lost with a stupid box and splitting to single bottle MSRP.

I didn't mind the big format because a 22oz bottle ages much better than a 12oz bottle. But with a 12oz, I'm not really sitting on them as long as I would the old format.

And that stupid box. The box had a purpose with Anni releases, with all the info they wanted to give with it. Made some sense. But now just putting all of their BA beers in them and now even little bottles... come on. What the hell is wrong with how KBS, SMS, Sebago BA Barleywine, old BCBS is/was packaged, etc etc. It's just a beer...
