I like how the very first question about the beer is "is it hazy?", even though there's been no indication that Half Acre will even attempt a NE style beer.

Well in fairness, it's the first question these days about every IPA.

I went in for lunch, and had a pour of Topanga. It was OK, nothing too special for me - I like something like Navaja better from a DIPA standpoint from Half Acre. I passed on buying any cans/growler to go - too much other beer in my fridge (and storage and balcony :flushed:) at this point to buy something unless I'm really into it.

It doesn't seem like there's THAT much demand, so I assume you'll be fine.

I'm enjoying Topanga Gulch. I should preface this and say I also enjoyed Cliffs of Tephra as well as Rainbow Never Ends so I suppose I'm a fan of Equinox hops. But if you were a fan of Cliffs, I recommend trying this one out. I don't always agree with brewery descriptors but Half Acre is spot on imo with their description for TG being "earthy, full, dank, piney and a touch of candy".

I really enjoyed rainbow never ends. I completely forgot about that beer.

Hopefully, they'll make it again this year, and in cans. If so, I'll be all over that.

I'm enjoying Topanga Gulch myself. It reminds me a little of Navaja, but probably mostly because it's one of the two DIPAs of theirs I've had recently. The finish is kind of cracker-y, which I really like.

I liked Cliffs more, but this is definitely a solid beer in my opinion, and not something I regret getting.

I completely agree with you. That was one of my favorite beers of 2016. Let's hope for cans in '17.

I enjoyed Topanga... alot...Why I love Half Acre....Doesn't have to be "juice" to be really really good. Plus the place is awesome and the beers are always on point.

I would describe the beer situation as "plentiful" and you won't have an issue tomorrow

While I love Navaja isn't it cheaper to buy cans? Not trying to start a price arguement though.

No, you're right. Cans are cheaper. Navaja howlers are $11 and Growlers are $20 believe. I brought a howler hoping Topanga Gulch was available for draft to go but it was not so went with Navaja. Not a rational purchase on my part I'll admit.

Been there, done that. :flushed: Only reason I mentioned it.

Also enjoying a Topanga Gulch right now. Not seeing a ton of similarities with Animal Law, but enjoying it all the same. I'm looking forward to all these one off IPAs in the future.

Navaja is one of the rare beers I'd buy a howler of over cans (Hops plus style). If it's a rarer treat, I'll go with draft/howler over cans

Drinking a Navaja right now, purchased in cans today...Tastes the same as the sample I got at the shop earlier. Cans, or Howlers...Navaja is killer

Unfortunately, I wouldn't expect that beer again. It was one of a 2-part collab series with Other Half.
