I've heard the city-only thing for bottles also, so I'm not sure how I was able to buy two six packs Friday at the Liquor Barn on Dundee Rd in Wheeling.....

The "rule" could be outdated. Or just skirted here and there -- it's not like you can't get New Glarus beer in bottles or even on tap if you know where to go in the Land of Lincoln....

It definitely made it to the Firkin this weekend, that is lake county so maybe this guy was wrong. It seemed official since they also had Ham on Rye. I have seen bottles in the burbs but not there legally I don't believe, Antioch liquor had them once.

It seems weird to me if someone lives in the city but can't make the trek to FFF to buy ZD. I understand if you don't have a car... but I'm surprised by the number of beer snobs I've met around me in the suburbs and in the city who freak out when we bring them ZD... it's like a 40 minute drive.

i used to be like that when gas was cheaper. i'd drive that far for no good reason but now i really have to think about if it's worth it. fff is like 30 miles from the city and i get 16mpg. thats about 2 gallons each at $4 a gallon. That's $16 in gas.

You're right, I didn't think about that. We should just set up a Chicago ZD Mule group. I have a fuel efficient vehicle, and look for any excuse to go to FFF.

If gas was $2.50 would you/did you make the drive? It costs you $3 more now that gas is $4/gallon.

EDIT: Sorry--$3 more each way, $6 more total. Still seems like a negligible difference.

I saw at least 5 cases of zd @ mainstreet liquors in countryside today. Looks like distribution is increasing.

Totally agree on everything you said. You seem to have the exact same mind set as i do about ZD/FFF.

i live in dyer so it's 10 minutes to three floyds. i love zombie dust but not sure how much i would love it if it cost me $20 in gas to pick some up. but then again i just drank one and right now i probably would if i didn't have more in the fridge.
