Not had any beer since the 9th
& not posted for a while
Timperley Co-op finally got the local brews the other stores have been stocking
So got Blackjack Double Bluff hoppy pale ale at £2.19 which is almost half the price I hand over for this top brewer
Also Wenslydale Gold? How the hell is that local?
Bargain Booze continue their tidy little craft range supplying me with cans of Moor Agent of Evil & Big Hug's Hibernation
Also Moorhouse's Hen's Tooth has re-ermeged (thought it been completely replaced with Old Crafty Hen) so have a bottle of that.
Add to that a Robbo's Beardo & a Guinness FES looking forward to a well deserved hangover

My second Cloudwater Birthday DIPA and a Mikkeller Beer Geek Vanilla Shake I've had since the summer. Quality over quantity to console me during the upcoming period where you've started a job but haven't been paid so don't have beer funds. Bring on May!

Had only ever had it from a bottle before so it was great to see it on tap and only about £2.50 a half pint.

Flying Monk Brewery - Jackdaw Porter
360 degrees - Rye Pale Ale
    Cloudwater - Birthday IPA
Magic Rock - Custard Pie, Common Grounds
    Dugges - Avenyn
Wiper and True - Rye Mild
    Guinness - Rye Pale Ale
    Bear Republic - Racer 5
    Brewdog/Cloudwater - Vermont IPA
    Founders - Backwoods Bastard
    Crane - Hazy Saison

Stand outs, Cloudwater B'day, Racer 5 and Vermont IPA for the hop fronts and Backwoods Bastard. The latter was an absolute monster of a BA Scotch ale.

Recently moved to North London, a short 1 minute walk from Beavertown. I've been quite spoiled being able to walk over and grab their recent special releases and get cheap take away. Stopped on Saturday and picked up a few Double Chin's and neck oils (for comparison). Also, a few of their 5th birthday beers were still on tap. Got to try the Timmy DIPA collab and it was quite nice. Also got a few of the Cloudwater Birthday and V12 as others have noted, both are fantastic. I really like all of these DIPAs, but the market is really saturated right now. I find myself digging into my stout reserves for some relief. As a side note, if you haven't seen or head, Pressure Drop are expanding and moving into the same industrial lot as Beavertown and expecting to open late summer. Could be the start of Bermondsey type Saturday destination.

Been a while since I've posted - what a choice of beer we have at the moment. There is literally too much to keep up with, but it's hard to avoid the FOMO!

Anyway, a couple of group's birthdays resulted in a crawl round Manchester, some highlights as follows:

    Cloudwater.
Sampled a Pils due to release soonish, really easy drinking and light.
    Birthday DIPA - amazing.
New England IPA w/ Brewdog - v good.
Also talked about a couple of sours (Bergamot and Seville Orange) that are planned for the next couple of months. Looking forward to those.

    Port Street Beer House.
Abbaye de Saint Bon-Chien - BFM, just amazing. Pear droppy goodness.
Szech 'n Brett - Logsdon Farmhouse Ales. Really good sour, peppery saison.

Bundobust (first time I've been to Bundobust, food was absolutely top. Really recommend)
Double Sonoma - Track. First time I've had this; hopefully not the last. Thick, chewy DIPA.
Make Apple Pie Great Again - Cloudwater. Impressive how they've got this to taste exactly like apple pie, with plenty of cinnamon.

    57 Thomas St (Marble).

Chocolate Chocolate Marble w/ Szechuan Chilli. Solid stout, with a late kick. Liked it. Played Cards of Humanity in there. Getting drunker.

    Pilcrow.
Lady luck was smiling, and De Garde had a tap takeover.
Had the Special Rouge, Nectarine Premiere, Bu Weisse & Petit Blanc from them. All very, very good. The Special Rouge and Nectarine were particularly special.

Followed this with a visit to The Gas Lamp, which is a super cool little venue, tucked away underground - but didn't have anything spectacular on offer, for me.
And then finished at Beermoth - surprisingly disappointed. Normally guaranteed some crackers on, but, again, for me, nothing stand out.

Train home changed at Wigan, and was delayed - had the worst pint of Jaipur I've ever had there, so washed the taste away with something better at Wigan Central round the corner.

Finally got the train, fell asleep on the couch with a kebab I din't need.

    A. really. good. day.

Supping a Beavertown Double Chin double Neck Oil DIPA. It's ok. Not as tasty and hoppy as many DIPAs but sweeter and not as refreshing as Neck Oil. However the alcohol is hidden well and it's a nice break from the recent outbreak of mega fruity, cloudy, not-so-bitter DIPAs.

    Highlights from this weekend
Tiny rebel Cali, nice fresh bitter pale ale
Brewdog hopshot, interesting, amazing smell, but preferred the sink the Bismarck
Buxton subluminal stout, quality imperial stout nothing fancy done with it
Red willow perceptionless, nice New England style IPA but not on the level of cloudwater
Mad hatter ultra one, awesome barley wine.

Found myself in an ASDA for the first time in ages today so checked out the beer selection, which has improved since I was last in - picked up some Victory IPA and their Headwaters pale ale which I am drinking at the moment - a very nice yankee pale ale imo, tropical fruit one in a 355ml can £2 a pop. Also got some broughton 6.2IPA and old jock

I just spent 10 days snowboarding in Austria and the beer was so cheap, like 40-90p a bottle. Drinking out was another matter though, you're looking at £4 or £5 a glass. Great selection of top quality German style beers. Schneider Weisse Original was omnipresent and cost about 90p a bottle. Refreshing not to find a single IPA anywhere.

I had a pint of Schiehallion on Saturday in Edinburgh. £5. I thought the barman had thought I'd asked for 2 pints.
It's a decent enough drink but its from Alva not Munich for Christ sake!!

Cafe Royal. Incredible, it's decent but not worthy of that price tag. Can't wait for Bamberg soon where proper high quality beer is served at a good price.

Nice looking pub but it is a tourist mecca so you pays the price. I prefer the Guilford arms nr there and back in the day the penny black was my very late night drinking establishment of choice  It's been closed a fair while now though. Also the beer was a bit shit so really its no loss lol

Grotty place near Waterloo station, £10 for 2 Stella tops...
What really irked me was a few weeks later realising the Waterloo Tap was just around the corner!
