Hold on before you throw out an infection rumor you need to provide specifics in taste and smell.

Melange 15 rumors were spot on, but mocha Wednesday and white mocha were just the coffee aging.

Please provide specifics before you send us all running to put these bottles at the top of our TBD (to be drunk) lists. Have you reached out to the society email to see if they provided any concurrence of infection by providing a refund or other information?

I drank an M15 last night and it was damn delicious. No signs of infection at all and it had been stored warm except for the 24 hours prior to drinking it.

Speaking as RS, this Hoarder's Cuvee is damn good! Glad I've got a second bottle in cellar too.

I'll be honest, I thought by the description I would hate both HS cuvees, but rather enjoyed both. You have to, have to, like black licorice with the Bruery one though.

Terruex Cuvee is pretty damn incredible . A lot of crazy adjuncts that works beautifully.

I like to drink a weekday beer every once in awhile, and I'll pour a glass and put the stopper on. Big beers like the weekday beers can handle up to 4 days with the stopper in it since lower carb on something like that doesn't really matter much. I'd say any sour or anything sitting below 10% don't let it sit for more than a day in the fridge with the stopper in it.

It also could've been what you had for whatever meal you just had that could cause some of the flavors to come off slightly tart. I've had that happen with BT before, it was obviously not infected but it had an underlying tartness from the barrel aging.

I wish, but you could smell it as well. It was definitely infected, but borderline drinkable if you're into that. I got 6 of them, and that was the 5th one I opened since Feb of last yr. This was the only one that wasn't completely on point. A year down the line is clearly past the point in which I think the bruery should be held accountable. I know the risk I take when holding onto BA beer for this long.

Yea but with a series like the Chronology series you'd expect the entire series to survive to completion. Its not over a decade long like the Christmas one.

So I finally opened a bottle of Turo. As a beer drinker, I dug it. It is 90% wine and drinks like one as well. Tons of grape and text book 101 red wine notes, but then it finishes with just a bit of sour from the sour blonde that was used. It is by far the most "wine" beer they have ever done. I dug it and gave it a 4/5.

My lady, who is a wine drinker and doesn't care for many sours, absolutely hated it. She thought the smell and taste reminded her of a wine that had gone bad. She couldn't even get through a couple of ounces before she had to give me hers.

So depending on what you are looking for, you may love it, or hate it.

I thought perhaps the growler is more "air tight", but it makes total sense to me now regarding being exposed to more air.

Bottle Stoppers all the way! Thank you gentlemen.

Plus, when you agitate the beer, more of the carbonation comes out of solution, so when you just leave it in the bottle you get less CO2 loss.

There's also the factors of the headspace and compressibility of the air inside the bottle, but that's way more technical than it needs to be.

I have a wine bottle stopper that comes with a little "reverse pump" that purports to pull all the air out and create a vacuum in the bottle. Not sure if it really works any better than a regular stopper but it wasn't that expensive and it certainly works.

You can find it on that enormous online shopping site named after a river by searching for "Vacu Vin Wine Saver Pump". It costs only $13 or so.

that works well for wine but not beer or champagne because there is carbonation. If anything I feel this would suck more of the carbonation out.

Unfortunately, if you lower the pressure in the vessel the CO2 will come out of solution until you have a positive pressure again.

    This.

Really though, if you are drinking it within a day or two none of this really matters. Put something in it to plug it up and you'll be fine. Hell, some of the beers (weekday stouts) taste even better after a day or 2.

I personally wouldn't suck the air out of them though.
