Is there a requirement that breweries bring a certain quantity of each listed beer? I know whales will tap first, but Im curious about likely volumes available.

It is all up to the brewery.

CCB pays for two sixtels... that's it, which is pretty shitty. It's then on the brewery if they want to bring more.

I know last year, De Garde brought the two sixtels and were out in like an hour. Jester King only brought bottles.

Then there's places like TG and 3 Sons who had the longest lines AND had beer all day. Have to give them props, especially 3 Sons (who doesn't have a brewery to shell out the expense for BA beers) for killing it all day.

Also, I heard that CCB isn't allowing any breweries to sell merch at their tents this year... again, pretty shitty of them.

Did anyone hear about the early entry passes this year?

What do you mean by this "holding tank" comment? I'm not seeing anywhere on the official material stating anything about this. Unless it's on the app...which I don't have.

If you watch the does and don'ts video, they show what thunder alley looks like where everyone will be penned up waiting to get in. They don't specifically call it a "holding tank", but that's what it is.

Does anyone know where Will Call will be located, and when they open? I was instructed to go there, but Cigar City hasn't responded to my inquiry.

Agree..BS that no breweries can sell their own shirts, glasses, etc. I know one brewer pretty upset with this, especially since they just got informed recently.

I can understand the no glass policy, but what's the reasoning behind no sales of any kind from the visiting breweries?

I see, I didn't watch the video, for some reason I thought it was the same as last year's. Glad you pointed that out, quite a few good new nuggets of info.

I wonder if a lot of folks are doing this. I almost didn't watch the video because the screen shot looked like it was the same as last years. I happened to be bored one night and pulled it up.

I just call it quits earlier. Last year half those jackleg breweries ran out of beer early and packed up to drink. Didn't wait in a line for bottles and didn't miss anything on tap really.

Walked out of hotel after opening bottles and chilling out in the AC and laughed at the line.

Also, expect breweries to run out if they have two beers on tap in some cases. Kudos to the breweries who can last the longest with good beer, I hated to see half a tent emptied cause everyone ran out of stuff, even flagship beers.

I know they are behind on treatments for a couple reasons, the tasting room has been lacking beer recently. I think they will add more, but no where near amount as last year and also I don't think you'll see the five special toppings either.

No clue why other breweries can't sell merch. Seems stupid

I could have sworn CCB paid for two 15.5 gallon kegs last year. That's what the guys at Side Project told me - maybe I misunderstood what they told me.

Speculation from the brewer I talked to was that they want to sell more of their own merch. If people are buying from other breweries, it hurts their bottom line. May be due to CCB being owned by a bigger company now.

Either way it's BS... I always love to buy cool shirts and other stuff from breweries I'm impressed with. And as someone else mentioned they JUST told breweries a few weeks ago. I'm sure a lot of them already spent a ton of money on merch they were expecting to sell.

I agree. There was a small brewery last year that did a promotion last year of hats and shirts (maybe mazurt??) that you preordered your shirts and hats and walked up, grabbed it in a bag and went on your way. I like being able to purchase stuff at the event from different breweries, mainly because some stuff isn't available online (on breweries's website), and I don't have to pay shipping. As the day goes on, I'm sure people that have some extra cash in their pocket from the week (if that even exists lol) would but some swag toward the end of the event...not sure how much $$$ CCB is preventing breweries to getting from this, but I could see some having a sour taste in their mouth moving forward.

I thought that buying merch was the whole reason for adding a cc to the wristband. Hoping it's just miscommunication and everyone can sell swag

It even said something about no booths would be taking cash and link your card. Don't remember exact wording but I took this to mean that all merch could be purchased with the band even other breweries merch.

I could see them saying no selling merch at booths to shorten the amount of time you wait in line for a beer. You know so you're just waiting for fills and not someone making up their mind on a purchase and paying for it as well as a beer. I dont see why they couldn't have other breweries sell their merch at a different tent if they want to though.
