Their new online shop is open. Check out their gorgeous glassware and shirts.

Nice pics on their instagram feed: https://www.instagram.com/grimmales/

Grimm beers are usually in high demand (especially the cans). Cans have been limited to low counts per person. Grimm Artisanal Ales supply their beers at low prices (and have NOT raised their prices recently) to the distributor, who supply the retail shops, and therefore are not responsible for the final price you may encounter. They try to support the "Mom and Pop" shops that sell their beer. Hopefully, we should all support these small shops. Also available at select Whole Foods beer departments with limits to spread the wealth among your fellow BA brethren. :sunglasses:

The latest fitness craze has been the checking of this thread and Beermenus for their cans/bottles and running around town trying to get them before inventory is sold out. Needed exercise for some of our fellow beer enthusiasts. :grinning: If you miss out, you can usually find their beer on tap.

Post away and yes, Joe and Lauren (the Grimm's) monitor this thread and are great about responding to your questions and comments. Especially, if you tag them @Grimm_Artisanal_Ales. Great people, great couple, great brewers.

    Artwork

The beautiful Grimm artwork on their labels is designed by Lauren, about 50% from scratch and the rest using Gretta Johnson's (their longtime friend) artwork. Gretta did the artwork for Sugarmaker, In Mid-Air, and Candlepower.

Check out http://grettajohnson.com/ for more about this talented artist.

The artwork on the Splish can is by Joe's old band mate, and incredible artist, Brian Alfred.

The artwork on Lambo Door, Awoogah, Light Year, Skyspace, Lumen, and Blackberry Orange Pop! is by the amazing Lauren Grimm. She can do it all!

The artwork for Sumi Ink label is by Sumi Ink Club (http://sumiinkclub.com/)

Their friend Maggie (Margaux Ogden) did the Zap design (http://www.margauxogden.com/paintings)

    Can advice:

Keep cold! Drink Now! Roll can to suspend hop particles.

Is Magnetic Tape a spiritual successor to Compass?

No promises but we're looking at mid to late next week, along with CAPSLOCK. This week it's cuvee #3 and neon lights

@Grimm_Artisanal_Ales what's different about this version of Neon Lights from what was on draft last year?

Slightly cleaner yeast strain, step mash, higher carb, a bit of Columbus to back up the huell melon and hallertau blanc... it's almost like a mini-BFF

what's a "good" or FMV price on typical Grimm bottles? the handful I've bought have been in the $15-$16 range... seems like that's on the high side? I suppose its also beer dependent...

I think Grimm bottles are like 10.99-11.99 at WF

our idea of appropriate pricing in a grocery store (not a bar):
    ~$10-11 for most
~$12-13 for some ingredient intensive imperial stouts or insanely fruited things
~$15-16 for bourbon barrel beers and the like

craft beer bottle shops have a difficult business model and go under all the time. I try to remember that whenever i get annoyed with a high price. I want these places to continue to exist even in high rent locales.

Perfect, thanks for the insight, and can certainly appreciate the sensitivity to the smaller specialty shop / NYC rent perspective.

Like your numbers but maybe add $0.99 to each to match the current reality of the craft beer market

Just had skyspace and blackberry orange pop. Both were excellent. All of your sours are killer.

In upstate NY, almost all bottles are $10, the BA stuff (BADN, BAMDN) is $16.

Grimm's numbers looks right, add like $2-$3 for your average bottle shop pricing. $11.99-$12.99 is the typical number for sours/saisons in my experience. Think I paid $11.99 for Blackberry Orange Pop! (so good)

Anybody have a Lumen lately? I had one the day I found them and the other is just hanging in my fridge - I think it's high time it gets drunk
