    Thanks.

Let me just say the requirement to use Twitter to keep informed on things like this pisses me off.

His point is that breweries routinely communicate this sort of information over social media. Giving a bunch of advance notice would be a disaster from a server traffic standpoint.

It was 100 spots to 3k ish people attending. Should they have announced it in advance so everyone could crash the server and then complain about that some more?

So in your world, three thousand users can crash a server? That's some really shitty equipment.

However, it's feasible to announce the actual sales of actual Huna tickets--or any other much larger event for that matter--via mass communication over the entire planet?

My point was having to have a social media account in order to get information from a brewery for an event I am actually already attending, irritates the hell out of me. Someone stating I should have checked other social media is pretty ******edly redundant, as if I prefer one over the other.

I get it, I should have accounts on All Teh Thingz, because you all do, and you love scrolling thru ads, babies and cats all day. I'll be on my way to deliver your cookie via a windowless van.

I believe CCB should use an actual soapbox and proclaim the sale of tickets at a random time in front of the brewery.

    Honestly?

They have all attendees' information. All of it.

    It's really simple. Really.

Why did they even announce it via social media at all? What is the purpose of announcing it to more people than are actually attending?

Because they wanted to do it that way. I don't think they really need a reason.

I hate to say it but...get with the times. This is the era we live in now. Not even being a dick about it. Just stating facts.

You're right, they don't, doesn't make it any less irritating to me. Trying to convince someone they shouldn't be irritated online is like standing on a fire ant nest. It's just stupid for me and you and all else involved lmao.

I understand what you're saying @dsigmon but I just can't stomach it. Not even via a fake account.

Then you'll have people complaining that their hotmail account didn't receive the email till it was already sold out and they'll feel even more butthurt.

They simply put it on a public forum that everyone has access to, whether you choose to or not. It also brings traffic to their brand that they may not have had before.

Just curious, what would have been your preferred method of conveyance?

Pager? Telegraph? Pony Express? or perhaps some Smoke Signals?

Nail on the head--this actually is one of the driving factors of what irritates me.

Hmm, as I already stated, they already have all of our contact information. They could have used any number of ways to do this, or even entered everyone who already has tickets into a lottery. Sure, someone will always be miffed when they lose out, so any of my suggestions will be easily dismissed by those that got theirs.

I'm just so damn sick of this kind of model that works everyone into the frenzy of ceaselessly monitoring all forms of advertising and increasing the bottom line for businesses like this--this is the kind of practice that ultimately decreases my interest and support in them.

When breweries announce a lottery, and give everyone ample time to sign up for it and get the word out, then everyone going who wants one, has an equal shot. Seems fair and painless.

When you allocate in the way they did, the allocations go to people who happen to be on twitter at that moment, with a fast connection, whose browser didn't crash, whose cart didn't get stuck with several tickets, and so on. It feels substantially more arbitrary and leaves a lot of people unnecessarily frustrated.

CCB gets to do what they want. For sure. But I can sympathize with people hating on the mechanism they're using. It's a silly allocation rule.

That said, in all seriousness, these are non-transferable I assume? People were posting ISOs on their FB post. Is that a thing?

It's almost as if they...... WANT you to closely monitor their channels of advertisement!!!!

wish I had gotten it, missed it, oh well. Sorry some people don't like twitter, seems to me a great way for a business to disseminate information quickly and efficiently to their customers.
