Anyone have any info on this beer? I heard that this was supposed to be release in July but never saw it around. I really want to try this one, but information on it seems to be pretty slim.

Hopefully it's completely different. That Belgo Anise RIS is horrible.

Not horrible by any means, just polarizing. If you like black licorice, imo at the worst it will be decent.

I love black licorice. Anise is not the same as black licorice. I also love anise too, but it completely ruined that beer for me. The anise flavor was WAY too strong and completely dominated everything that makes the IRS good.

When breweries use weird adjuncts in the beer, they should be used in moderation. Too much will kill anything else going on in the beer. It seriously tastes like Stone IRS + Jagermeister.

There is no comparison to the original I'll give you that. But if you are looking for an imperial anise stout, look no further. And I know I can't be the only one that liked that overpowering anise flavor!

I don't like anise that much, but thought the Belgo Anise was pretty good. Not sure why everyone was going apeshit about it.

Pillow at the Ritz sounds interesting but will probably go overboard on the mint.

Polarizing for sure. But then again, so are most beers that I think are crappy.

It would've been great with MUCH less anise. Like, 20% as much. It'll be interesting to try this mint beer. I'm sure they'll be heavy-handed with the peppermint oil.

Yep, I liked it. Haters gonna have-differing-opinions-than-mine-but-they're-wrong.

I wonder if it'll be released in Cali, select markets, or everywhere they distribute. I'd love to get my hands on this

This thread is making me re-think my "not buying beer for a few weeks" policy

Just had it last night. Not at all like the Belgo Anise IRS. Tastes like Mint Chocolate Chip in bottled liquid form. It's really quite good
