There's something in the finish of For Crazy that I really don't like. Like a bitter algae nasty green taste. Hahaha. Nothing interesting on for HPB so I tried it again. Nah.

I'm jamming home as fast as I can to clear my palate with a Wonder Cloud.

Well it's that green tea variant. I didn't like it either. Wish I tried the "caffeine" one.

They're not one and the same? hpb.la shows "For Crazy hazy IPA with caffeine" being on tap. Which is how it was listed when I tried it when it went on before the Modern Times caffeinefest.

I wasn't sure if it was the same bc I didn't see any mention of green tea in the beer description on the site just something to the effects of caffeine but since when did green tea mimic caffeine idk? I rarely drink coffee or tea lol so I'm no expert

Hoping for some good things being tapped tomorrow, will have to decide whether to drive up this week or next week for Cool Ship pickup based on growler fill/draft options.

Green tea has more caffeine than coffee

Well no wonder I never drink green tea lol. I'm more of a crystal Pepsi guy. So that's what they meant by the addition of caffeine. Oh well didn't like it either way

Whoops was much better of the two. A big citrus burst up front with a slight dank finish on the backend. I thought it looked more hazy than for crazy. Would go for fills if option was available.

I have no idea why you guys are drinking hazy beer when Timbo is on draft. But for the record, Whoops was great

I got a pour of Timbo and a growler of Whoops when I was there last weekend. Will open the growler tomorrow. Timbo is great, tasted like an IPL, didn't get much grainy pilsner taste though. Is Timbo not on that often?

Timbo is on pretty often and new batch should be being brewed again soon.

I have to agree. I really like Timbo, but I would enjoy it even more if they would tone down the hops a bit. That crisp, pilsner malt flavor is the main profile of a Pils, and I get none of that with Timbo. It's still an awesome, refreshing beer!

H... hey, wait. But that means you drank hazy beer while Timbo was on draft, too!

Holly Leaf Cherry Somewhereness will go on sale tonight at 8:00pm! These details are for Beer Friends only, the public sale will be Friday 3/10/17 (with the same pick up dates).

    BEER DETAILS:

The first beer released in our series of parking lot fermentation explorations with our buddies from Monkish. This saison features cultures from both breweries and was fermented in neutral oak barrels in our parking lot in Highland Park. We added about 1 lb per gallon of the locally discovered and native fruit called Holly Leaf Cherry. This fruit has a wonderfully thick and tannic skin that lends incredible flavors of cherry, leather, and plum. In addition to the fruit qualities the base beer has great integrated flavors of lemon, grapefruit, and musty wood. 5.8%
