A group of dedicated BA forum members, donning red berets, and dubbing ourselves the 'Monkish Angels'...

We will prowl the lot to keep all the riff raff away. Anyone suspected of muling gets pepper sprayed.

It might sound extreme but the parking lot has become a dystopian hellscape... some brave souls need to step up and take it back.

Whistles, mostly. At least one of us gets to hold up the megaphone and make idling non threatening remarks.

Anniversary Party details:

1. No children or babies be brought to the brewery. This will be a 21 and over ONLY day. We will have security to enforce this rule.

 

No kids allowed at monkish's Anniv party. You guys got your wish!

 

If everyone complains enough in here maybe they'll ban neckbeards for a day too.

If I may. From my experience,and I am a long time Monkish regular who....gasps, drinks all their beers, not just their IPAs, the majority, and I mean the VAST majority of haze-day-laborers are not neckbeards, yes there are a few but they don't constitute the majority demographic of the lot lizards who patrol every day, and the Monkish team will confirm this as well.

Now back to their beer. Holy cow, Eggs Are Cooling is in a great drinking window right now, what a fantastic transformation over a couple weeks. When I picked up my bottles last night I grabbed two more growlers when Eric told me it would probably kick soon, I am actually shocked it has lasted two weeks, but since there hasn't been a hoppy can release it has been kinda like the good old days, these stick around a bit longer, but I digress as it goes back to the old argument about who actually drinks the stuff when its not in a can, oh, the people that actually drink it.....not sell it, damn, got me again.

Never been to Monkish before, but I might be in LA for their anniversary, and I'm tempted to pick up a bottle of Monkey & Toad. They say there's only 400 bottles with a 2/person limit so should I expect a long line even though it's not an IPA? Any advice on when to get there to guarantee a bottle?

 

I would show up before they open to be sure you get some. It's going to be busy.

 

ASAP, even though Monkish is NOT filling any growlers that day and there will be no new IPA cans there will be a slew of great stuff to drink which makes me hopeful that this won't be a total shit show since the day-haze-laborers won't show up. Personally I'm stoked they are doing the Monkey & Toad Series, sounds delicious and I want two.

I binged 'monkey & toad' to see what they were alluding to and all the videos were of a chimp sexually assaulting a frog? Hopefully that's not what they're referencing ??

Not sure if they made it clear in the blog but my assumption is Monkey and Toad won't be an online release?

 

Fingers crossed that it'll be an online sale One can hope

 

They commented on instagram that it'll be sold at the tasting room only so no online sale unfortunately.
