They said it is based on Animal Law, which was hazy. There have been a few taproom only offerings that have been hazy.

Yeah, Animal Law was hazy, Fog Bowl was hazy, and the tap version of Beer Hates Astronauts was hazy. Not saying they're NE style, but they were definitely very hazy.

I have never really understood why the cans come out to be cheaper than growler refills. 64oz refill of Vallejo at $18 vs 4 16oz cans for $10. I love fresh growlers but c'mon.

I've never made it to HA's taproom but am considering a trip this weekend. Is it kid friendly?

I've seen kids in there, typically earlier in the day when it's less crowded (When they open till shortly after lunch). I wouldn't recommend going in there with kids later in the day cause it can get awfully crowded and loud. It's can also be incredibly hard to get a seat, it's a very small space.

I've taken my kids there before as the food is awesome, but like Kdawg said, for lunch as the afternoon does get crowded. My son loves the Burritos so it's a win win

This is what I was going to say. Half Acre is definitely one of those places where you need to plan ahead to get a seat, because it's tiny and pretty crowded during peak times.

What @kdawgmoney is pretty much spot on. I would say that you CAN take kids into Half Acre, but it's not a kid friendly place. It probably depends on the age and temperament and eating habits of your kids. I've got a 4 and 6 year old, and HA is probably one of the last places I would take them.

While I respect others' opinions here on the matter, I'd call it a firm "no".

Bad Apple which is basically right across the street is super kid friendly (although they might not look it from the outside) so hit that and then the bottle shop at half acre and you're all set. I've done that several times with a 2 and 5 year old for lunch.

You guys want a good business idea, build a brewery with one of those McDonald style playgrounds in it. "Go play kids, Dad has to take care of some business with Mr. Bartender over there.

Does Half Acre still do Firkin Fridays? Last year for Double Daisy release they had a version on tap with extra hops and grapefruit.

Not at the moment. Last time I was in, they said they were going to be phasing it back in in the near future (like maybe once a month to start, hoping to getting it back to weekly). Not sure if they decided when they are going to start it back up though.

Do you know if they had a reason for slowing down the frequency of it?

I believe he said it had to do with not having the space to store the casks once they put in the kitchen. But they are going to be moving some things around soon. Not 100% on that though.

It's neither kid friendly nor mother approved.

As others have mentioned, it really depends on the time of day, but as a parent, I wouldn't plan on bringing my kids in to HA. I would check it out and if it looks good then head on in, but if it is crowded you've got a back up plan in :
Agreed. Definitely kid friendly, and just noisy enough to absorb the sound of kids. Good tap list that will usually have a couple stand out choices.
