You're the one ranting and using caps. Sorry you misconstrued this as an "argument."

Ranting? I've been melted into my couch placidly watching the Walking Dead through our whole exchange. I used caps for words I wanted to emphasize since you can't "hear" me. Were we not arguing? Seems like we were. I'll just say one more time since you're right, this is ridiculous, I don't really give a shit why the guy left, but I thought his answer to me was weird. The rest was just you butting in.

@DrStiffington and @guinness77: You two are talking in circles.

You're both agreeing that the guy in question should have been served quicker. You're both agreeing that maybe if he spoke up, he would have gotten served (but it should have never gotten to that level). You're both agreeing that Finback is showing some shitty signs.

Calm down. You're both pretty and both going to prom. Go grab a damn beer :grinning:

Lol, I never felt like I was in any kind of an argument. I'm not the type of person who likes to delve into my personal life, but as someone who has worked in this industry as long as I have, no customer should have to pry a bartender for service. It's disrespectful. It's the Internet and I added my .02, I thought that was allowed here. @DrStiffington is more than entitled to his opinion too.

I shared my Hip Hop Airhorn tonight and think it tastes great. It's different from what I'm getting at other breweries in NYC- not objectively "better" just unique. I still hate the way these guys handled the release. As I said before, I'm not hitting up that taproom or any can releases again until I hear from you all that this shit is better. I'm usually, though not always, able to get their beers on draft. If there's something I can't get though, I won't miss it.

you tipped when buying cans??? extra effort to fetch cans from the walk in??? that's a low standard of effort, especially to tip

I've had Finback, but have never been to the brewery....and after reading about them, won't be going. Any place that treats there customers so poorly doesn't get my business. I'd rather give my hard earned dollars to people that care.

It doesn't really matter at this point. I was a waiter and a bartender in my youth. I was not disagreeing about the shittiness of the Finback service, just asking the dude a personal question about his decision. Of course you're also welcome to your opinion.

Sounds like the collaboration w/ Magnify extended beyond the beer.

Given the poor customer service from the release, I almost wish this version of Oscillation wan't this good. Going to have to disagree with @MosaicDrops but this is a very nice version. While it is very different and lacking the gummy bear flavor of prior versions, it is really good and one of the best Oscillations yet IMO.

sad to see how poorly run this beer release was on Saturday..i've been to a few Finback releases before and they always haven't been the smoothest, but never so bad that I wouldn't consider going back..i've always liked going there are the beers are usually solid and almost always never crowded..it would be disappointing to see them fade away because of the lack of customer communication and service..I hope the see all the complaints from this weekend, take them to heart and make the necessary adjustments to become a better brewery

Its gonna be pretty bad if their next release still only has one POS.

I understand that they screwed up last weekend with the time of the opening.
I understand that one POS sucks.
What I don't understand is why anyone felt the need to line up at all.

I went there today and got a 4pk of every beer released last Saturday and two of the beers released three weeks ago. Wait time was exactly zero minutes.

While I don't understand why people line up at brewers that don't sell out, I understand why they are upset that they didn't open on time. I'd be pissed too if I showed up at noon to grab a beer only to find out they decided to seek their beer earlier than advertised to yogis. Nobody lined up at Finback because they fear a sell out, they line up to be first.

I lined up for the stout, as the BA BQE had sold out at past releases. Haven't tried one of the FTL's yet but my experience has been that their stouts age really well so am holding them both for at least six months most likely (and drinking my now-aged Heavy Boots of Lead in the meantime). I was pretty pissed about the late opening more than anything. The one POS- while stupid- was expected so that didn't bother me as much. Anybody here drink their FTL- how's it tasting? Not many notes on Untappd.

Unfortunately the stout compounded my frustration.

I knew the cans would last, I actually only bought a few, I went their specifically for the stouts.

I had the FTL on draft, and I was terribly disappointed.

I loved Between the Dead and all the BQEs. I didn't purchase one bottle of FTL.

I arrived before they were scheduled to open and lined up simply because I had hit the Other Half release earlier that morning and, after spending a bit of time in their taproom, headed over to Finback right afterwards. It was neither a fear of the beer selling out nor a "first" mentality. I doubt I was the only one who showed up at 11:30 or so for the same reason.

I got there early cause I figured since it was 2 collabs they would go quick. Yes it's frustrating that they opened late, but basil came out and appolgized to the people on line. I feel some people expect a press release saying they were sorry about the late open. They messed up, it's not like they did it on purpose. I'm not going to stop supporting a local business because of one little thing.
