Gotta love having a retired father who lives 1.5 miles from FFF. Every time I call he runs and picks up whatever I need!

I feel like a bunch of people watching this thread just looked up the closest retirement homes to cigar city or funky buddha.

There's a retirement community quite literally a stone's throw from FFF. Tell him to move even closer.

Picked up my 4 bottle allotment.

    Had two pours on tap.

Went back after a couple hours to buy one more bottle. They sold it to me. I set it on the trunk of my car. The wind blew it off and smashed it on the ground. Serves me right. I took the broken glass back in and the best they could do was sell me another.

    $30 adds up quick.

The beer is phenomenal. At 9.7% it could pass for 15. The bourbon is hot and spicy. Almost felt like peppers added on the finality of the swallow. Vanilla was done perfectly and felt and tasted so natural. The cherry was beautiful too. It's not my favorite fruit in a beer but I think the cherry held this together with the slight sweetness and mild tartness. The cherry is what I think gave this body compared to other porters. Very clean and well done overall.

All I can say for Molten Mirrors is that it's sour peach juice. It's a good enough beer but not memorable. I had it on tap.

I have a bottle of Sacarino Pina but have yet to try.

Also got the Floydivision 1 bottle. The bartender said they tweaked it some compared to the experimental one that was on tap months ago

I don't see it being Floyds M.O. to distribute a bottle that costs $30 at their pub. That'd be a $40-45 bottle at the store. My local stores gets all floyds distribution and I can't see it happening.

But who knows. Maybe that's why the abv is lower

That depends if you count Crack The Skye since it's a blend. Correct me if I'm wrong though, it wouldn't be the first time

I went for a late dinner last night. Thanks to those who recommended the steamed buns and the ramen. Both were delicious. Molten Mirrors was fine and definitely had that dry saison finish. Weldworks Peach Acromatic at Fobab ruined other peach sours for me though I think haha.

I like Rue D'Floyd. I feared it would be thin based on the lowered ABV (never had the previous version though). I've had a cold so my palate is limited but the bourbon is a little hot right now and I thought there was much more cherry presence than vanilla. I passed on a bottle at $30 but was very happy to have a small snifter for $5

So they still have Rue D Floyd bottles? I may go for dinner tomorrow, hoping they still have some.

They just announced the brewpub is closed until Tuesday (kiosk still open).

Edit: Never mind, I misread. Just closed for lunch next Tuesday...

According to their website, it's still available.

I was there yesterday when they opened and there wasn't a line.

According to their tap list and the website Rue d'floyd is 13%. It definitely said 9.7% on their website a few days ago. Tastes like 13%...not sure why they had it wrong

This was yesterday afternoon listed at 9.7%

You're right though. If you click the link to the beer on their "Beers to Go" section, it's now 13% and it was listed as 9.7% the other day.

Glad I wasn't far off in my post where I said it felt like 15%

I am at Floyds now and they have updated the board for Rue to 13%. I asked the waiter and he said it was an error. It is definitely 13%.... yes, it is still available for carry out and draft.
