So what's the deal with their cans? I know a lot of people had issues a while back. Have they fixed the problem? Thinking about driving over from Fort Myers but don't want to waste my time if they're gonna turn on me after a couple weeks

No problems anymore but I don't sit on my cans. Their original cans wouldn't even last a week. I've had some recently 2-3 weeks old no problem. I am also quite impressed with how long their crowlers last.

Can't touch this was fantastic IMHO

Had a few bad emerald showers. At $20 a pack I'm done gambling.

Yeah the ddh emerald showers and pulp were exploding after a while... like literally exploding. To me though, the good from them had been great and that's enough for me to keep trading for their cans. They'll get the canning figured out, if they haven't already.

In the area this week and plan on swinging by...for those with the experience how nuts do you expect this release to be? For instance I have tix to the Mets game at 110 on Thursday in St. Lucie. If I'm at CS and on line by like 1030am do you think I'll be able to get some cans when they open and be on the road by 1130 or 12 at the latest? I can also just swing by friday and get whatever's left and/or crowlers.

When they do weekday release the cans almost always last into the weekend, don't rush.

There has to be something to that though, like extreme temp change, not to mention the cans were like 3 months old. Who keeps IPAs that long?

I haven't had any issues with cans for several releases or any issues with the cans I've sent out.

    On a side note.
Can't wait to try the Slim Pickens Collab it sounds so good.

No, they sold out day of release. New can release tomorrow though, including a couple new ones so you're in luck

Last few cans I haven't had any issues with, I also agree Cant Touch This was fantastic but that's because Southern Grist was involved....they had the best IPA at Civils 1yr ann IMO also

I just posted an IP trade for Miami this weekend in case anyone down south is looking for Civil Society.....just sayin

Both 4pks I got were way overcarbonated, right off the rip, but the flavor was still great so it was no big deal. My cans didn't explode, but after a month (which is still PLENTY fresh), they had even more carbonation and were developing lots of off flavors. After that, a week later, the guy who sent me the beers, sent me a pic of his last couple cans of each that actually exploded in the fridge.

There was an obvious issue with those cans, but like I said, I don't hold it against them, bottling/canning consistency is crazy tough and I'm sure they'll get it all straightened out, if they haven't already.

How do you not hold it against them...? They are taking your $18-$20 for 4 IPAs, and canning issues have been happening since the first canning run, which I think is over a year ago at this point. I get the craze behind uber-fresh IPAs, but if the product isn't even a shell of itself a month later, you can absolutely hold that against them. If the product isn't consistent, it shouldn't be released.

Like I said earlier, I think what I've had from them at the brewery and in cans that didn't have issues has been fantastic, so for me it's still worth the risk... for now at least.

To give you an idea of what their good cans have been for me, I got Ballina on release day to bring home when visiting from Ohio last year and those cans were not only perfect, but my absolute favorite can I had from the pack, was my very last can, that had over a month of age on it.

Hoof Hearter (near home for me) has had their own issues with can in the early stages, but I would be so fucking pissed at myself right now, had I given up on them because of it and decided to never buy their new beer because of it... cuz again, when their beer is on, it's well well worth it.

Ballina was full of diacetyl and not good at all.

Not only have the issues not been fixed but unless I missed something they were never even acknowledged. I didn't even get a response after emailing them. If people keep lining up they have no incentive to address the problem.

Not all of them, that's for sure. Just like apparently not all the Pulp and DDH ES were bad either. Apparently it's hit or miss and hopefully more hits than misses at this point.

I just got Can't Touch This and Snack Time on trade, so we'll see how those cans are for me, but I'm expecting them to be fine, hoping so at least.

Would be real interested in seeing your thoughts on those. I had both on draft sunday as I drove through Jupiter but didn't get cans of either
