Is that place any good or is it The Dudes 2.0?

They're not executing their beers to the level of Smog or Monkish (still kinda has a homebrew vibe) but they have a novel, frozen yogurt-esque ordering system.

One of those automated, pay-by-the-ounce joints?

I meant it will be my first visit to Monkish's brewery. I've been to The Rare Barrel, Fieldwork, and Cellarmaker. I'm pretty interested in Farmhouse ales right now which is my main reason for going to Monkish's anniversary.

But at yogurt land I get free sample cups to eat for free. Does cosmic do the same as well cuz that would be swell if they did.

Given that, you're probably best off going with Monkish actually - trying to think of who else does farmhouses/saisons well in LA and few are coming to mind. Phantom Carriage does some interesting wild stuff, but can't think of a farmhouse/saison that comes to mind.

I mean, Casa Agria would also make my list of awesome saisons but they are an 1.5 hours outside of LA.

He should go to Beachwood Blendery

I did say it as kind of a joke, but then I felt bad after getting all on that hype_train guys case for dragging valiant.

From a crowd perspective, this could be a better choice. Haven't had enough of their stuff to comment, though, and what I've had has been good but nothing really blew me away.

Also, not sure how Long Beach works for the guy.

I feel like they did themselves a disservice with the propagation series... almost everything I've had since has been pretty good to great. (Except the Eugene series, which I don't much care for.)

    Underrated.

Think I mat have had 1 or 2 propagations. Personally, I enjoyed the Apricot Eugene more than the Dia mango one with spices.

What else should I keep my eye out for? I still have Chaos is a Friend of Mine on my shelf.

Chaos is good. Loved Fortune Favors the Funk. My favorites tend to be the experiments and whatnot they put on draft.

I bought Juteux bottles and was always planning to pick them on Saturday, well before they announced this cluster-f of a party. Does anyone know if I'll be able to just get my bottles and leave without waiting in a 4 hour line?

Pretty sure they said somewhere that they'd have a pick-up only line for those bottles.

I'll be flying into LAX on 3/24, what time would I have to show up to pickup what they offer that day? Also, can/do trades happen IP there?

Have you been to HPB/Hermosillo? If not, I'd go there instead. Stellar beers and much better atmosphere. You'll make better use of your time that way. Plenty of food spots in the area too--the huarache spot, La Estrella, the pizza place on the corner, and gentrification donuts.

If you go to Cal, holler.

Yeah, they posted on their blog - it says that bottle pickup will be available inside at the merch station, but I wanted to make sure I won't have to wait in the line just to get in the door to grab them.

Come in Grape Your Time Is Up is fantastic, I am a fan of The Blendery, some early misses granted, but they seem to be really dialing it in now.

    Cheers,
