damn, with younger, I'm assuming that'll be a shit show. Would love to get a commemorative box to exchange for some box car next week, but I don't want to brave that potential line/crowd. Trying to have myself a nice little saturday.

SDTaproom PtY release is slammed 1000am until 11am or so, then it's usually business as usual. The way they're doing the cans, you should have no issue coming in sometime on Saturday afternoon to grab cans and maybe a pour as they'll have a killer list.

    SDTaproom line is absurd!

If you're coming up, wait a couple hours or so.

Just now reading this....#30 for a 4pk of Speedway? Am I reading this right? Is it made with golden hemp? Or are they smoking crack down there in Alesmith?

It's actually cheaper per ounce than buying a 750 ml.

    4 16 oz cans = 64 oz
    64 oz at $30 = $.468/oz
    750 ml = 25.3 oz
    25.3 oz at $14 (average price) = $.553/oz

I think it's 7-8 bucks for individual cans, and he's saying if it was a 4 pack, it'd be $30, which would be less desirable.

    All were then girlscout cookies
The lemon wedge one with X
    Shortbread with Lil Devil
    Tagalong with Nut Brown
Thin Mint with Robust Porter (was also told it goes really well with the alesmith/mikkeller porter but I didn't save any of that cookie to try)
    Samoa with Speedway

    So 5 4oz beers and 5 cookies.

The girlscouts were right outside the tasting room as well so bought a few boxes. It was even better because they were taking credit card and not just cash.

While I'd be even more stoked for SS cans at $6 I can honestly say I'll be drinking more SS at $8/can than the $12-13/750mL bottle format. TETO.

So from their email earlier today...

Boxcar Speedway cans now for sale at the brewery starting on the 10th. Limit 12pp per day (I had a feeling SD Taproom aimed a little low at 2pp, then 3pp, then unlimited the same day, hehehe).

Also for their St. Patty's day celebration:
    • Specialty Beers:
      • Nitro: Dry Irish Stout
      • Cask: Irish Red
      • Cask: Speedway Stout w/ Coconut, Vanilla, Vietnamese Coffee, & Irish Whiskey Soaked Oak
      • Randall: Grasshopper Speedway Stout -Creme de Menthe & Creme de Cacao Soaked French Oak
    • Food Truck: New York on Rye

Pastrami on marble rye with spicy brown mustard and kraut (and a dill pickle on the side) along with pours of both speedways seems like a good way to spend a lunch.

The 11th, you are correct. I guess I had not enough caffeine so I could have my fingers twitch on the 1 key. And I bet I was also looking at the "10th anniversary" line as I was typing it out.

$16 + tax. Tax wasn't being charged at SD Taproom during their anniversary, so...oh well. I would have paid that much in gas + tolerance of driving and dealing with PB anyways.

With 12pp daily allotment, I think you would be fine to cruise in next tuesday or something at 2:13pm and still walk away with as much as you wanted.
