Yeah, I'm local and have thought about it, but there's no guarantee that I'll be in town on the random day that they sell in person.

So, like last year, I'll luck out, get Group E on line, then be sipping coffee at home some morning, when they announce local sales. And I'll send a heads up to a buddy who got shut out on-line, and then hear how he got Group A tix, and then (ultimately) a Handjee.

    Sigh.

I thought gates always opened at 9am? Was it 10am last year? All i remember is walking in at like 11:20 after getting there at like 8 and jumping in front of everyone in B line as attendees and workers told me i have to get in line. Definitely glad i did it listen to them I saw a lot of group A in the group B line

Yeah, that's pretty much exactly what I'm thinking for myself! If on-site tickets went on sale like the last couple years, I could easily get over there. But, if I were to bank on that, they'd probably do it on a day where I'm not around or absolutely had to be at work at a certain time that day.

I'm sure this has been touched on but finding the information has been difficult. Does the name on the ticket have to match the name on the credit card used for payment?

I'm well aware of the faq. The question is not answered there. I also have reached out to FFF and have yet to receive a response.

The names do not have to match.

Thank you. I didn't think so but wanted to double check on it and see if anybody else had actually done this.

Classy bro calling me a tool. I'm just voicing my opinion that it's not a great value considering the vast majority of people I know hate the beer. If everyone want's to pay $180 for some beer that really isn't that good and to bottle share, more power to you I guess.

I can also confirm this. Helpped someone else cover costs and had them pay me back later. Though one caveat, you cannot use the same card to purchase multiple ticket sets. This makes sense but I hadnt considered it at the time.

Wasn't planning on using the same card twice. Just wanted to put somebody elses name on the ticket who will go in case I'm able to make it up to FFF for an in person ticket.

It was maybe 5pm last year when we tried to Uber back to the hotel. They has surge pricing at that point. So we decided to start walking, pretty quickly found a local cab, used that instead.

We used Uber to get there in the morning though, price was fair. Although our driver got a flat tire about 3/4 of a mile away.

I was trying to read through this to find the answer but it wasn't clear.

When tickets go on sale can you choose which group you want or is it you check out as fast as possible and at the end you find out your group letter?

I enjoy how my broken bottles from '14 is being used as a profile picture for a dude who slams the event, yet more than likely will show up with bells on.

Should be fun trying to get tickets for year nine. If I get them, great. If not, well, I'll still take the day off and probably enjoy a tap list somewhere. Just got to roll with the punches.

Just to clarify, that was a password to get on the not yet ready DLD website. The site is up and running and no passwords are needed for anything, including purchasing tickets.

You choose your desired group right away. You select one or two tickets and it's then a wait and see. The earlier groups will always be the toughest to get as the variants are now (since last year) first come first serve.

Barrel-aged coffee and beer barrel-finished spirits are completely legitimate and the effects of the barrel are very easily discernible. It's not at all a gimmick.

To put my comments back into context, the products themselves aren't anything special. It's just DL hype and THAT is a gimmick. If you put a DL logo on a portapotty and told people the liquid at the bottom was DL, everyone would be lining up and paying a fortune to take a shit in it. You can find better without spending a fortune and waiting in a line just because it has DL on it.

I've never had a BA coffee aged in former beer barrels that imparted anything in the coffee (BCBS, Big Hugs) unless that beer has a ton of botanicals (Pony Pilser aged in spiced gin barrels, and then you only get the spices, not the beer).. Aged in spirits barrels, yes it imparts flavor that doesn't get lost, but dark lord in coffee beans is going to be lost...

I don't entirely agree with this, and I don't entirely disagree either. DL is a legit beer. Can be way too sweet fresh, and the sweetness does hang for a long time. But this isn't a beer that 3Fs mails in. It takes a long time to drink, and a long time to rest. Sure there are many beers people would put ahead of it, but you put a DL of any year on a table at any bottle share, and you're swinging something between your legs as long as that bottle.
