I appreciate the Bruery employees coming on here and discussing their reasoning. I haven't met an employee who hasn't been respectful or an overall good person to me. Having said that, I still don't think the large increases are justified or a good business model, but at the end of the day it is not my business. Having said that, even if 25% fewer people visit the brewery you will still have the same revenue with the price increases.
When I do come back and I probably will, I will rarely be ordering tasters as there is no value in them, and my growler will rarely be filled as I am not trying to spend $30 on a growler fill. I didn't even fill my 2 growlers last time because there wasn't anything I really wanted to drink in the next couple days.

Difference is Bruery peeps actually read BA forums and reply, I don't recall any significant presence on that thread...

What did it accomplish, they haven't lowered prices, or did I miss something.

Enjoying a flight right now with their updated prices. The value of the pours is $14 before discount, which is more than it would have been a week and a half ago, but much more reasonable compared to the original price bumps... And a price I'd consider fair!

To Patrick, Jonas and Joel, I raise my taster glass to you guys! Cheers!

$14 is still higher than most people we're saying earlier. What did you get?

BT '09 was and is really fucking good though, so it wasn't like darklord at least.

'10-'16 (non Reserve) didn't live up to that, but oh well

Taster pours at the Bruery have always averaged about 2.75 oz. I measured it myself over several visits because I needed to know exactly how much 20% beer I was drinking for driving purposes. So likely it is the exact same pour size only now they are calling it 3 oz.

So as the guy above said I think it is much more responsible to call the pour 3 oz so people know how much they are actually drinking. With the 20% ABV beers people would be shocked how much of a difference 2 vs 2.75 oz makes. Also their 5 oz full pours would often be 7 oz. I guess thanks for the extra but I for one would rather know exactly how much I'm drinking. Check out the app 'Alcodroid' for a reasonable estimate of your real time BAC (definitely only an estimate tho don't take as fact).

This makes sense to me as well, and for reasons beyond driving. Folks with diabetes may need to very carefully allocate their portion size. Plus for folks not used to stuff this strong just knowing the quantities could help them make responsible decisions BEFORE they get cut off.

Heavy pours are a double edged sword. Sometimes they're rad and sometimes they're the last thing someone wants to be surprised with. My good friend, who's generally a very responsible dude, was at a bar a couple years ago that had mislabeled their DFH 120 Minute and was selling it in PINTS for $6. My buddy had two, because how could you not take advantage of the deal? Well, on his walk home he tripped and chipped both his front teeth. Don't think too hard about whether that story is 100% on point, I mostly just like telling it from time to time.

Drinking another Imperial Tart of Darkness AKA Sour SHIT. I'm not gonna lie, even though it isn't what they intended I kinda dig it. Another from Batch 2662 for those of you that are wondering.

Does the recent activity in the thread mean that everybody put their pitchforks away?

I always keep mine sharpened and in hand, American Gothic style. I don't want to be caught unawares when the next round of righteous indignation kicks off.

As a person who currently lives in Louisiana having access to Parish does not make up for how much this state sucks. I pay more in sales tax in NW Louisiana than I did when I lived in the Sacramento suburbs. Let's not even talk about the weather, beer access, how poorly these yokels drive, the state of the education system, and otherwise poor infrastructure. I dealt with more power outages here in one year than in the three years I lived in CA.

I will gladly trade places with you to overpay for a 40 dollar growler from The Bruery at my leisure.

you can see updated pricing on their website: http://www.thebruery.com/tasting-room-list/. $2 for the low abv stuff, $3 for higher abv, $4 for mash and shit. doesn't list the taster price for chocolate rain. is that $5?
