They did a handful( maybe 100) early entry tickets on social media is all. There were no sold VIP anything I was aware of.

Most of the folks weren't even ready at 11 to pour, and many wouldn't even pour until 11 despite there being the 1045 early entry tickets.

Why is that a slap in the face? It was probably 100 ticket holders and maybe a few brewers - in the grand scheme of things, it's not that big of a deal. The 100 ticket holders jumped on it when it was announced on social media and I believe 4 others belonged to the individual that won that huge auction that CCB put up.

yeah breweries and people with VIP bands from cigar city would be some unaccounted for in early. I hope I didn't upset anyone by being in there at 10:15 drinking.

Why? Because there was no such ticket offered. Early entrance ticket didn't let you drink early according to Cigar City. So what ticket allowed you to do this? Every time I was up to get a pour I saw someone come from behind the pourer and get in before me. It's just weird since I never saw that ticket offered so apparently people got tickets or knew people mean while the rest of those that paid solid dough we cut short at some taps.

Again, I still had a great time, just that it was a bit of a slap in the face since I was not aware of any VIP tickets.

Also 100 ticket holders probably kicked J Wakefield Bake Kujira and other big beers. Just saying.

All I've seen so far is Winner, I left before they announced that.

Wake staggered the Bake pours throughout the fest. Even after he crossed it off he poured more.

I went up on two occasions and had two pours of Bake

I went to JWB twice over a couple of hours and had the opportunity to get Bake both times.

If you're talking about people inside the tents, those were all people from the breweries and distributors.

I had my mead, ate it with a spoon, fork, knife, plate, and glass. I said that garagiste goober vitis/grape was the beverage to try.

Won best of everything. Best beer and best brewery.

Now I'll place you back on my ignore list.

    Eat that with a spoon.

Those are friends of brewers, other brewers, or friends working/volunteering for cigar city. There were no sold VIP tickets sold.

For the record the early people didn't kick anything. I can assure you. I was in the fest early and many of them didn't pour anything until general admission was in. Some did, some didn't. Some did random pours as they were setting up.

Bake was in bottles, and he didn't bring much. He split it into two different pour times to spread it out. It didn't get poured early enough and most people lined up for voodoo and 3 sons off the bat.

Had Garagiste's Mead X for the first time at Wakefest and loved it. Got to try Raspberry Bochet and Goober Vitis today - good for them on the win. I've had mead off and on over the years and never found any that wowed me until I had their stuff.

Bottle pickup process was over-the-top good.

Major thanks to Cigar City for the event and everything they have done for craft beer here in Florida.

Any locals have an extra shipper? Had a bad uber experience on the way to the airport and had to leave mine in Chicago. Would buy you some beers at hangover day or something.

If Ccb was profiting on the early entry sales I would have a different opinion but all $$ for the early admission went to a charity. It was like 50-100 tickets and grand scheme of things not something anyone should taje offense to, given the reason for it.

Man am I surprised to see people coming here and having sour grapes about yesterday. The entry and exit strategy Ccb refined was absolutely amazing. Next year people will know they don't need to line up at 9:00 to get entry and into the fest on time. This was far and away my best huna day experience, probably because I've attended since 2013 where there were issues almost every year. Thai year i can't site one thing that is a cause for concern. Did I get to try every beer on the spreadsheet or listed as being poured? Of corse not. But I got to try many world class beers, including some whales. Had bake at like 1:30 so I know Jw was pouring still. Wished I could have tried goober vitus from garagiste but man they are on par with schramms, which is the mead standard. Overall, I'll def be buying huna day tickets next year!

Thought it was the best Huna yet. I tried several whales and it seemed easier to do so this year than in the past. The key was that there were so many to choose from that the lines were spread out (except 3 Sons, which had an insane line at all times).

I have to agree with the previous poster that there were many seemingly regular wrist band people just cutting in line and getting into the tents cause they were "buddies" with the brewers. I recognize some of them on IG if you look at huna2017 posts. That just didn't seem right.

Security was constantly roaming through the tents and kicking out anyone who wasn't supposed to be there.

Source: I was someone in the tents who was supposed to be there.
