I'm gonna guess reported for pimping the host location. Maybe throw the info back up but with a little less detail.

i'm still in on this! can't wait. seems odd to delete it since the place wasn't posting at all...they were just kind enough to let us use the spot. this was organized by a BA who is unaffiliated with the place other than living nearby it.

todd said that it was reported by forum users, as all events should be on the calendar.

in any event, i've submitted the event to the calendar for approval and will link it here when approved.

Regardless, I'm not sure why they chose to *delete* it. Why not just lock it, PM the author, and decide whether or not to re-open it when/if the OP adds the event to the calendar. Moving, locking, and archiving are FAR superior to deletion.

I'm happy to assist with basic moderation if it's too much work. It really pains me to watch all that content be wiped from BA forever. :slight_frown:

I'm really excited about this event after missing the first one due to family commitments. I'm doing my best to avoid those this time around, to a certain extent..it now looks like I'll have to bail at some point and head to metro-north to get upstate. Hopefully I'll still be fairly ambulatory! I just have a few questions for Franch or anyone else who wants to chime in here.

    1. Should I or should I not bring my own small tasting glass? I don't want to drink out of plastic cups.
    2. Is it worth showing up right at the start (12 noon)? I was thinking I would and then could hang for 3-4 hours or so. How late does thing run?
    3. I have a feeling there will be a LOT of high octane beers. Anyone have thoughts on maintaining a comfortable but not excessive inebriation level? Obviously I have my own pacing strategies, water and food consumption, etc. I'm a big boy and can manage my intake. I guess I'm wondering..was everyone REALLY drunk after the last one? As I said earlier I have to make my way to Grand Central and grab a train at some point.
    4. How is this thing managed? Are bottles pulled from the fridge and then whoever wants to try them simply putting their hands up? I'm more curious about the logistics of this than anything else. I certainly have no doubt I'll get to try a ton of great stuff.

Thanks in advance for any input. I'm planning on bringing Southampton IRS and Arctic Devil, each from the last bottlings.

    1. no, we'll use their glass tasting glass
    2. yes, and last time i think it ended around 6.
    3. the people who stayed and drank the high-octane beers for 6 hours were really drunk, i think. although i recall someone (maybe brystmar?) checking into ANOTHER tasting afterwards...
    4. we will have you put a tag on your beer with your name on it. if you want to open your beer, you'll ask one of three people who can go get it for you. it's either then put on the bar for people to pour or you can pour it or whatever you like. there were tons of beers open at once so unless it was something super rare/limited/in demand it was kind of pour yr own and li'l groups formed to try beers.

I know claspada and I went back to my place afterwards and had like 6 more bottles. Irresponsible? Sure. But it was worth it...SH BRL, Blend Love, Fou Foune, etc... :-)

are people limited to one glass from the place? there are a few brews i might want to do side by side or have a few glasses going at one time. i've learned my lesson about bringing glassware out after recent tastings where i broke some of my favs...but if the place is providing a single glass per person, i might want to bring 2 or 3 mini snifter/taster glasses with me.

Wasn't me! I was sufficiently intoxicated after leaving, despite my attempts to minimize pour sizes. Good times
