Thanks for the honesty, man. I think most of us can appreciate how certain actions affect us as individuals.

lol GTFO. what else were you expecting? what would have made it better than ho hum? Do you even like monkish? They had almost all of their best sours available as well as multiple IPAs and some decent guest taps to boot. Guess your tastes are just too elite

Thats not to say i dont think the hazebros are idiots, because they are, and it makes me sad that this is what beer is now, but as long as I can buy what I like from Monkish they can stand in line all night as often as they want.

I wanted to feel entertained *insert Gladiator gif here*

Rolled up to monkish at 9, still had people inside, but was still able to grab a glass of lines and monkey and toad within 3 minutes in line. Had elbow room, can't complain

Pretty good. It's got a lighter body than some of their other sours, so I'm curious what the base beer is.

Walked in today and the crowd was manageable. Monkey & Toad, We've Got Five Years, Off Not Optional were all still on. Same Tree wasn't, so that bummed me out. Plenty of other good choices though

agree with Koger, fruit notes were more subtle though and wasnt a "nectarine and peach bomb" as to say Rampart Junction from MT in terms of flavor, which was full frontal assault of juicy peach(which was still great). That is the only beer Ive had recently with peaches that i can think of to compare too. But Monkey & Toad still came out in a typical Monkish sour style

OMG... they are injecting the marijuanas.

You must be from Manhattan Beach.

They tapped Same Tree late and were rotating certain taps on and off so that the kegs would be available later in the day.

Entertainingly, I was at Other Half on Saturday while all of this was going down.

They released two different IPAs (canned), and there was no line, plenty left over, and people were not your typical (nowadays) Monkish crowd. Will say the tasting rooms are incredibly similar. And obviously the IPAs are as well.

I still enjoy Monkish (especially their bottles), but this haze craze -- for them and the various others out here -- needs to go. It attracts a different breed of asshole, and (this goes for all the West Coast breweries doing it) these hazy IPAs still aren't as good as what's coming out of the East Coast spots. Had IPAs from Tired Hands, Hill Farmstead, Threes, Other Half and Interboro this weekend in New York, and all run rings around what's being put out in L.A. right now.

We already had an IPA style in Southern California. Not to sound like a curmudgeon, but let's get back to that, since we did those so well.

for my money Modern Times is doing the best so far (Dinosaur World kills it) at taking on the style, but then I'm not drinking a lot of the Monkish releases admittedly, except what I get on tap. And I'm a league member and MT fanboy

    but still. Dino. good shit

I'm also drinking one right now so that's partial bias too

Has it improved over time? I enjoyed it, don't get me wrong. But wasn't blown away like I was by some of the actual East Coast IPAs.
