My girlfriend and I have a limited amount of time in Denver for the GABF due to my wonderful job. We will be visiting friends, hitting up bars and brewpubs, and taking part in the awesome weekend to come. We are also staying downtown in a perfect location. It's her first time in Denver and we are hitting the festival on Thursday night. What are the best places, tappings, and "can't miss" events to make it to the rest of the weekend?
If you have Facebook and check out their websites: Falling Rock, Freshcraft, Star Bar, Hops & Pie and then check out the local breweries. They have daily schedules of tappings, etc. It really depends on time and what beer your into. You can't go wrong, fun stuff everywhere and lots of awesome local breweries to visit. Check out the Bro's GABF schedule to get an idea of some of the local breweries.
Another BA put this little handy calendar together: http://www.scottsteigerwald.com/family/GABF12_Cal.html
Another list here (may all be included above) http://blogs.westword.com/cafesociety/2012/09/the_great_american_beer_festiv_4.php
I was in Hops and Pie last night and asked them what kegs they had on deck for GABF week and I came away pretty impressed primarily becuase they will be tapping the Deconstruction from Odell which is a beer I really enjoy. They did mention they are going to keep there website updated during GABF week on things they plan on tapping that day so I am sure I will stop there at least once during the week.
Only bad thing about Hops & Pie is location from everywhere else, including my hotel. But will visit looking like Friday!
I understand that. I am a little biased on that place since its in my neighborhood but that makes sense.
