As others have answered, it's a collaborative project (brewery, it seems) between the guys at Half Acre and the guys at Tired Hands. There has been no indication that it's going to be a NE-style IPA (though the use of lupulin powder has increased significantly recently in IPAs of that style), but with Tired Hands involved, here's hoping!

Hmmm... looks like they took it down. It was a picture of yeast from Omega Yeast Labs.

    Yeah it was facebook:

No foolin', bromo sapiens, we're throwing a block party to celebrate the opening of our outdoor patio AND releasing two beers. Our wildly popular Raspberry Wheat Ale, "Summerly," will FINALLY be back on draft and in six-packs for the first time this year. We're also jumpin' on the haze craze and releasing our first ever Northeast-style IPA, so cleverly named, "Do You Even Juice, Bro?" Brotally hopped and br-oated up, this beer'll make you wanna be a bro-getter.

Because juice heads love some fresh nectar, we're live bottling this juicy goose from 12-1pm so you can literally buy a bomber directly off the line. Get here early bro-getters! That's some hella fresh haze!

I know its obviously written/named in jest, but that is a t-oatally spot on generalization of this craze.

Northeast-style IPA? I always think of New England when I see NE IPA.

Yea, I always think of it as New England IPA also.

Hailstorm on their cans also call it "Northeast IPA".

Haven't tried the Husky Pants yet as I haven't seen it around. I am going to pick it up if I see it though.

Binny's on Grand still has quite a lot of Cumulus, even some Stratus, the Marz ChIPA, Son of Juice, and Hubbard's Cave Lemondrop. Seems even the "hazy" stuff is sitting around these days.

Let's go with "Northeast style" to throw off the shackles of our English oppressors...

Sadly, that's because they're just not very good. These are mediocre, at best, breweries trying to capitalize on a craze and they're not doing a very good job of making the actual beer. It'll work for a little while and then eventually people will start to pass.

This got me thinking, what is everyone's favorite stuff from breweries in the Chicagoland region doing this kind of style? What's ranked as your number one from this region?

My favorite so far has been the Forbidden Root stuff I had on tap but specifically Snooze Juice. My second favorite has been the Hailstorm cloud series cans.

But I haven't had any of the Transient stuff, nor have I did ever have any of Shaun's RAM stuff while he was there, and I haven't had any of the Mikerphone stuff either.

You're missing the 3 best so far. Shaun and Transient are always solid. Mikerphone is hit or miss (more misses than hits for me), but when Mike's on point he's probably top of the pack. Hard to decide between those 3 breweries, but I put Mikerphone's Get Fresh Flow and Transient's Juice is Loose at the top.

Shaun is #1 for me. I agree @dwduncan2 that when Mike is on, he's really on and Transient is great. Snooze Juice was fire. I'm a pretty big fan of the Noon Whistle Gummy series and the cloud stuff from Hailstorm is pretty good too.

There's nothing else currently being made that I will even bother purchasing.

Completely agree. To me he hasn't had a miss. My order of his NE style IPAs:
    1. Juicy
    2. NE Slapper
    3. Hops on Hops
    4. Morning Fog
    5. Hop Slush
... and all of them would be in my top 6-7 NE Style IPA beers in Chicagoland with Juice is Loose somewhere in the Morning Fog-Hop Slush area.

Can't wait until More Brewing comes on line.

I would say Noon Whistle tops the pack for me. Transient and Mikerphone tied for next, then Shaun and Forbidden Root.

Juice is Loose is my favorite from around here, although god knows when it'll show up in Chicago again. Interestingly enough, I found that DDH PseudoSue tastes very similar, despite almost no one trying to group TG's stuff in with the NE craze. I haven't had the latest batch of King Sue, but DDH PS is better than the batch I did have. Once TG hits Chicago my answer will probably be some variant of a dinosaur. So I guess I'm praying for TG and/or Transient to start sending their best stuff over!

Other than that, Noon Whistle is very good, and I liked the one beer I had at Forbidden Root. I think Miker does a very good job with the style, but the SS beers I've had have not really wowed me (except the first one...which was also my first NE-style beer, so who knows). I'd give Hop Butcher an honorable mention with Galaxy Bowl batch 1 (one of my faves from the city), but what they've done recently with the style has been so all-over the place, that I'm not sure how much I can count on them replicating that beer.

Their unfiltered juice bombs predate the NE style...if a few people would have copied what they were doing in Northern Iowa, you would be hearing about NI style IPAs, not NE.
