Looks like DDH Small Green Everything was tapped today. Anyone try it? Would love to hear thoughts on it.

It is nice to see this down from $12 last time but $10 for a 500ml imperial stout is a lot, even if it is bottle conditioned. This should be $7-8 max.

When you go to a bottle shop in the city, which imperial stouts are <$10 for 500mL?

    BCBS, barrel aged too
    Morticia, oak aged
    Heavy Boots of Lead
just off the top of my head

Smokescreen and Oil Slicks was $5.50 a can, little smaller than 500ml but still.

Any reason OH would hold this back for almost 5 months? Am trying to understand why they chose not to sell right out of the gate, not a great business move holding back completed product.

I'll bite. I'm not even gonna respond about BCBS because you cant compare AB Inbev to a local brewery. Yes Morticia is the same price, so is Heavy Boots depending on where you go but again those are also local beers. So the going rate for Stouts in New York is $10.

Where are you finding BCBS bottles for less that $10 in the city? I did a quick search on beermenus and the average price is more than $10 a bottle, one as high as $16.99 (bottle shop in BK). The listed prices are without tax too.

Yeah whole foods, and various super markets have them $9.99-10.99

Yep, by a penny. More than $10 when you add the tax, which is included at the breweries. Everywhere else is higher.

The Duane Reade by my apartment had and actually still has BCBS for $9.99. The price of Orbit ain't bad so I don't see the need to complain on that front. Personally it is just not that great of an offering so I would likely pass regardless of the price, and would buy plenty of shelf stouts before Orbit. HBOL is way way better (not the maple one), not even a comparison.

Yes but I would gladly pay $10-12 for bcbs which is a far superior beer. Doesn't even compare.

I'm visiting Other Half this coming Tuesday and/or Thursday. I will be bringing metal howlers that were gotten from a Chicago brewery that also uses the a counter pressure filler. The opening is actually a little bit larger than the standard growler. Is the diameter size strict or is it a minimum size opening that will fit their counter pressure filler? Anyone know if Other Half will fill them?
