Dude for real. I waltzed into the brewery last saturday and grabbed a few bottles of coolship resurgam...honestly one of the best beers I've had in my life.

Thank you, as a long time Allagash fan I couldn't agree with you more! I think the only thing Allagash has done wrong, damn them, is to expand production on many of their previously harder to get beers, which of course in beer geek parlance means they're "less desirable"...go figure!! Because of this whole happy circumstance, even as a long time fan, I am still only a regular visitor to the great state of Maine and just tried Resurgam for the first time - couldn't believe it - walked in, weeks or days after it had been released, 2 or 4 bottle limit (or no limit at all - can't remember), grabbed two, drank one a few weeks later and shook my head thinking "this is about the best wild I've ever put in my mouth"...can't believe it eluded me for so long and it is was now so easy to get.

    Anyway, appreciate your sentiment!

The Allagash brewery is beautiful and the samples are free. You can even call and ask what bottle are available. Odds are there are some world class sours available. People who go to Portland and ignore Allagash in favor of cans of a pretty mediocre IPA or something are missing out IMO.

I recently discovered that they keep the website updated with what's available to go (also what they're pouring for flights): http://www.allagash.com/visit/#beerstogo

Echo the sentiment about Allagash. Definitely one of the largest new england breweries that still flies under the radar to some degree. I try to get up there as often as possible. If the limits were a little higher this weekend, I'd definitely be making the drive. But hard to justify the drive at 1pp (and my wife isn't available to go with me).
