Isn't that normally how collabs work though?

I have to think that at least the saison is the same, and probably both. The beers have the same name/labels, and they would come out drastically different if they were aged in each brewery's respective wood (assuming HA has wood, which I'm not sure of).

How many collabs are represented by a completely new brand? Somewhat of a corollary but are all Grassroots beers brewed at Hill Farmstead?

Huh? Most collab's are brewed at one location so that's why I ask. I'm very confused by your last question.

I have a theory that this may be a way for TH to do wider distribution, doing a semi-regular collab at Half Acre that works like a contract brew (like Carton @ Two Roads)...HA has way more capacity. So now you would be able to get a TH related beer in stores and I'm guessing this might be what the new retail store next to the BrewCafe will carry as well.

    Just a theory!

I would honestly be happy to see them do contract brewing of the regular offerings (hop hands/alien church/ etc) and have that free up brewing time and pace for the more one off types. It works well for carton and even breweries like Lawson's.

I would be happy to see Tired Hands contract brewed if that is the answer to their QA/QC problems.

Hop Hands, Alien Church, Pineal, etc. are excellent beers when they are 'on'.

    Cheers!

I agree that the contract brewing is a really cool idea; but nobody's suggesting that it'd be taking place at places like Half Acre, right? That wouldn't make any sense given the costs of transporting it.

They would be better off at a place like Two Roads they do a really nice job. I think sly fox also does contract work as well

I was at the HA release today (and met Jean - super cool guy, he even gave me some tips on my homebrewed milkshake recipe), and the HA brewer told me it was the same recipes and names, but each brewery brewed their own batches. Not sure about the details on the barrels, but I would assume each brewery aged their own.

I asked how often they were planning to do the heavy gen release and I basically got a shoulder shrug and "whenever".

Humanimal stasis was good, and they said all the hops were actually lupulin powder. The aroma was phenomenal, after that it tasted like a HA DIPA (Navaja, DDC, etc..h)

Virga was very good. Not a very popular style, but the quality was obvious.

    Cheers!

What did they do for the American youth collab? I assumed the saison was just in all tired hands oak but the can could have been brewed at both places. Did anyone see the cans at tired hands? Looking to stop by tomorrow so please let's keep up the not hazy don't show posts. Half acre does some of my favorite hoppy beers from the Midwest so I'm down.

What style is Virga? I thought it was a barrel-fermented saison.

It is... maybe I could of said that better. It's not an IPA or adjunct stout, so it's not as common (popular wasn't the right word)

I can't get there until after 3, hoping to be able to get a bottle, not worried about the cans....

was there any recent announcement about the release today on their IG or anywhere? I saw the one on HA IG however but curious why TH wouldn't post their own announcement?

Nothing since the initial announcement 5 days ago. I suppose the Ferm IG will at least post the brunch special but I know that doesn't really apply to what you're referring to. Pretty sure the site had pricing and allotments, just not positive off top of my head if yield was announced.
