Does anyone know how much Bourbon County has been made over the years? I remember seeing that AB was expanding the barrel program, so does that mean this year has more volume than ever before? Has the price increased this year or over the years?

Yes volume is up by a considerable amount. We have been told our market in Chicago received 10 times more than last year and the price is the same as last year, $21.99 a four pack if the store didn't decide to jack up their individual price.

More like $24-28 per 4pack in NY. Except for gougers.

Prices in Indy has increased over the last two years from ~$15/4pk to ~$25/4pk. Their pricing seems to almost adhere to demand in our market.

From what I'm hearing/seeing looks to be about 6.25 on the low end and 8 on the high end per bottle in the five boroughs.

I wonder if this pricing will be sustainable if/when they make this beer a year-round offering as they claim they will.

Year round I don't think much beyond $20 is sustainable, but definitely could be wrong. KBS goes for $6 a bottle in my area and I think BCBS can sustain that if they keep it a limited release.

Yeah the cheapest I ever saw it was $18.99. Now it seems like no one sells it at even $22.99.

I think $20 is definitely sustainable if its year round. It's 15% this year!

Can't speak to the rest of the country, but Chicagoland will buy all the bourbon county available up to about $26 a 4pack. Over that price and folks leave with a bad taste in their mouth, and it might not be sustainable if it was on the shelf relatively year round.

Think about what Parabola would cost if it was in a 4 pack at its current price point (about $16 for a 22oz bottle). BCS goes for about $.50 to $.55 an oz in a retail setting, but Parabola (which I think most will agree isn't as good as bourbon county) goes for about $.70 to $.75 an oz retail and still sells out quickly.

    Food for thought.

    Cheers!

For sure. I know that the $25 price versus $20 would start bordering on cost prohibitive for me. I'd have to get it at a bottle shop that did mix packs and pick up a bottle at a time for 6 or 7 with a mark up.

Think about what you would pay for it at a bar. People pay $4-5 for a miller lite at some bars. If you bought BCS at a bar you'd expect to pay near $8-9 for possibly a 10oz. pour. To drink it in the comfort of my home when I want and get 2 more oz. I could be persuaded to pay $25/4pack year round.

    Apples and oranges.

BCBS is a top tier imperial stout but once it is available year round the demand will drop if they charge $25/4 pack. The limited nature of beers is the main factor that allows such high prices. The demand will still be there at this price, but it won't stay nearly as high as it is now.

I just paid $17.99 in Madison for a 4 pack but I'm not sure what it went for here in the past.

That's a steal! The cheapest I found it in the Chicago area was $21.49 and I was at many stores looking for it.

What was it last year? What are the laws on that I've always thought some were underrated. Like KBS..... Not sure if thats legal though

at $6/12 oz though, are there (m)any cheaper barrel-aged stout options? Dragon's Milk is the only one I know of.

And some vintages previous to that were under 14% IIRC; unfortunately for us Georgians this one is not.
