Totally agree. Even if you just bought a 4 pack of the beers I had mentioned that would be 72 beers or 1152 oz. of beer or 225,792 calories. That is the energy equivalent of a 160 pound person running from NYC to Houston, TX (~1620 miles).

So, what's being released next week? No intel coming out today?

Yes. Yes it is. After all the debating on here I would like to say that I've enjoyed "reading the room" on some of these releases where I've been able to cruise in around 12, no line, and grab at least a four pack of each can and also bottles when available. Every 2-3 months is good enough for me.

Exactly! I have plenty of beer to hold me over for a while. I'm sure the debating will die down after the expansion is complete.

Again, it's not me being lazy. It's not me not having good beer. It's me being locked out sometimes because of a job. Which like I said such is life. So with a smaller release I thought MAYBE OH was gonna cut the limit a little making it last a little longer for people like me. I have no idea how this turned into the gong show it is.

And on top of that, which it isn't OH's problem, it seems to be pretty cut throat. When I'd post FT for a can of each when I couldn't make it, I'd have 3 PMs by the end of the night. I don't have a one, and I'm 0/3 on Untappd too.

So yes, it does stink a little bit when oat beers are one of your favorite flavors and you can't manage a single can. Then you get posters on BA kind of rubbing it in your face to boot. It ain't right.

I'm being a bit harsh and I'm probably responsible for escalating the conversation, but this is a ridiculous sentiment. Wanting a single can of beer is not ridiculous, arguing that OH make modifications to their system of selling thousands of cans of beer from the position of wanting a single can is nonsense.

The other silly bit (not from you) is this growing sentiment of, "I'm going to wait and see what the situation is, and if it fancies my preference, I'll buy cans. if not, I'm going to chime in and create this echo chamber of petty outrage."

Someone always cries foul when things get a little heated (beer is serious business, ok???), but criticism goes both ways. One is free to criticize OH or whatever else, but only while becoming open to criticism. Also nobody can be surprised that a brewer is being defended in a thread dedicated to said brewer.

On a related, can't waiiiiit for that new space and how it could impact regular availability for those who aren't both free and willing to line up every Saturday morning!

both were on fills for growlers after they sold out. if you just wanted one can you could have had a growler. even though its twice as much as a 16 oz can, its your favorite style so im sure you wont mind.

so i really dont understand why other half should change their whole system bc you hypothetically missed the beer your want. theyve upped their production, theyve upped their quality, and theyve upped their game overall in the past year. there is a reason they have a rabid fan base that lines up on saturday and buys the max. if youre upset with that side of beer culture then thats not on other half.

So I guess you do mean me, which would be a shame, since I've been very clear with my love for OH but I do see other's opinions as valid. That's ok.

Sorry, didn't see your edit, no, I definitely don't! I've always enjoyed your postings and am still perplexed that one named, "DrStiffington" is the voice of reason in this thread, but such is the internet.

    Scroll back a few pages.

Whew! I am relieved because I've always enjoyed and agreed with your posts.
Just as an FYI the DrStiffington moniker is an inside joke from way back.

If you read between the lines and look at his ISO posts this guy seems to be mostly upset that he can't get empty cans of each for his collection. Impressive that the discussion has dragged this far out, really.

Where'd I say they are suppose to modify their whole system to accommodate 1 can?! I'll wait.

I said it's unfortunate I can't get a can when all I want is to try one. I'm not pissed off I went there for 48 and got 8.

And a small release made it seem cut throat to try to even bother getting one off of anyone.

Then there's people like you who use this forum on their high horse, when this is a forum that is meant for people to bond and share and trade over a hobby they really enjoy helping each other out.

I buy 4 packs every single time I go to OH, FYI. It's enough for me, can share with a friend, doesn't kill my wallet, and more people can buy some cans. Everyone wins.

My recent schedule has me working Saturday's. I haven't gone in a while. So I want a can of each to try and have on my display, because I don't need to have 4 of them to be content. So I ask for 1 and meet up IP. It's easy, and people can keep a lot of the beer they got.

And when I have a 4 pack and someone missed out on a release, I set one aside for them too.

    Weird concept right?

    10 pages in. Ridiculous.
#1. I said I wish OH lowered the limit because it was a smaller batch so someone that couldn't be there mega early could maybe have a shot. I never said OH's business model was wrong, nor am I "shitting" on them. Will I be back, yep. Everyone took that so far that I said I wish they lowered it. It esp stinks when case chasers obviously join in, so a small batch goes that much faster.
#2. I've been on that line plenty. And I buy 4 packs, and never any more. Spread the wealth. As a member pointed out, I have plenty of different options, never said I didn't.
#3. I work Saturdays, and go to grad school. I can't make every release. Sorry. I leave NYC forever in November. The beer I chase is not only delicious, it's sentimental to me, hence the empty can collection. And for the RUDE person who started that argument. I started a can collection after my Godfather who has an awesome awesome basement full of displays. He is no longer with us passing away in his early/mid 60's. So I don't really appreciate you drawing conclusions like that, pretty disrespectful. So what better way to continue something I shared with a family member and tie in my beer hobby and time living in NYC. Couldn't be more fitting.
#4. I throw extras, I hold beer for people who didn't get a release. And I've had members here message me saying I got your back man. That's what this is about.
#5. I joined this website to share a hobby with people, and to swap brews with people. Isn't that what you are here for? That's what I'm here for, and apparently me "wishing" OH had some left today or "wishing" someone would say hey dude, let's get a trade going is a big deal. Instead I was met with total bombardment about my cans and time I have to work, by people with a more fortunate schedule.

    Have a good weekend everyone.

It's a little weird overall but to each his own. Far be it from me to judge. But yes you really wanted a can of each from today's release for your collection and there's been 2-3 pages of discussion as a fallout over that. Well done?

Edit: Read your post about your grandfather. Sorry for any perceived disrespect but I'm not sure I could have known that. Keep honoring him as you see fit!

I found it very disrespectful. It's a bit of an experience moving to NYC, I'm from the boonies. So no, I don't think it's weird at all between that and sharing a hobby with someone I was very close to.

And this 3 page ordeal is because I said I was hoping OH would lower limits on a much smaller, unique batch, so people that unfortunately couldn't be there at 8am might have a chance.

And I was attacked for it. Hilarious right? A beer forum, where people are here to HELP one another, and people pounced on me like I said OH should rot in hell and change their business plan...

Then you hopped on me about my cans coming to a premature judgement....

Like I said, have a good weekend fellas.

There were plenty of Orbit bottles left. Plus there are still some BA Space Doyez Sauce bottles available as well.
