Can someone who's not from the area explain better what this means? Are they done completely as in you won't be able to find their cans in retail stores any more or is it just this location? I have a buddy who discovered them at a beer festival a couple of years back and talks incessantly about how much he loves them. I just need to know if I should scramble to set up a trade to get what I can before they potentially disappear forever.
My understanding is that the brewpub is closed, but the cannery and distribution is still going on as normal. The post on the Facebook page seemed to indicate they are not doing as well as they need to be financially to keep both open, and so decided to sacrifice the brewpub in order to keep brewing and canning operations going. That being said, hit me up if you ever want any of their stuff. I'm in Indianapolis, but we get all of their distro'd brews.
Thanks for that update, I feel a bit better now knowing I've got some breathing room to try and remember what beers it was we had at that festival. I also appreciate the trade offer, I may have to take you up on that once my mind clicks in place. I'll definitely be on the hunt for a Tin Man growler if anyone reading this is interested in parting with theirs.
I visited the brew pub when I was in Evansville last year. I can see why they were having financial trouble. The beer was just ok (I think one was significantly flawed), the food was just ok. Nothing was terrible, and I've had far worse experiences at brew pubs, but it didn't seem very popular with locals either. On a Friday or Saturday evening nearly half the tables were empty. My buddy who lived there for a year had never even heard of them. Kind of a bummer to see them go, but what can you do.
