With the emergence of River Roost in WRJ and the broadening distribution of Hill Farmstead and other great VT beers on tap -- there are nice southern/mid VT beer runs that make it possible to get your fix for 4-5 hours of time vs. the whole day affair of going to HF and down through Waterbury and Montpelier. My new favorite is hitting WB for lunch -- then heading down to Rt 4 and going to Queeche for a beer or two at Simon Pearce's bar (pints are steep -- but the bar is gorgeous) -- then into Woodstock for some Worthy Kitchen and back to WRJ for growlers of River Roost before heading home. If you want more -- hit up the BBQ spot across the parking lot from RR. Anybody have any other favorite southern spots?

On a good day, not always, but sometimes, you can fill your trunk at the Brattleboro Co-Op and then hit the taps across the street at Whetstone Station. That cuts a few hours off a trip up past 89.

Worth noting that the tiny bottle shop next door gets some quality beer. Sip of Sunshine sold out a few hours before we arrived, but I was happy to find a bottle of FW Bravo for $10.

Brewfest Beverage in Ludlow is probably my favorite bottle shop in the southern part of the state. Woodstock Hops N Barley always gets love on here, but I've never had much luck getting new and interesting things there.

+1 on BBC in Ludlow. I usually grab a bunch of Foley Brothers, Stone Corral, and Zero Gravity up there.

The Coop had cases of SoS in WRJ too. Post on their FB page from 3/6. Figure they will have every other Monday. They had a case limit. Co-op Food Store, not Upper Valley Food Cooperative.

Ditto the one in Bratt. I've lost track of which Monday we're on but I think it's today.
