Went today (Sunday), took the tour, had one in the Tasting Room, bought 2 four packs, yes, they have a big supply. Worth the purchase. My wife enjoyed the scratch book, cost me a 6 pack. Look for Nimble Giant in the future, a DIPA. Review not bad, not Hopslam.

    JonB25,

I am going to assume you were the guy wearing the osu jacket today. Hope you enjoyed the tour... again ;-)

Thanks for coming in and chatting about beer today. Hope you enjoyed the visit.

Yup that was me. We had a blast as always. My wife and I always enjoy our visits to Troegs. Maybe the next time, we will tour with you.

Troegs still has some BA Troegenator available, here on Monday March 7, but it is going fast. I doubt it will last a month. I have no idea why it is labeled Oak Barrel Aged instead of Bourbon Barrel Aged. It certainly tastes nicely of bourbon to me. I would expect anyone who enjoys bourbon beers would like this one. IMHO.

Has @oneraindog addressed the topic of what sort of barrels were used for this batch?

    Cheers!

I don't think he specifically chimed in, but @jbdpsu82 posted here that he received confirmation from Troegs that it was bourbon barrels.

Troegs addressed it on Facebook. They said they used bourbon barrels.

Whatever it's aged in, I had my first one from this batch last night and it was fantastic.

Troegs just announced another batch release. This batch is back to the higher pricing scheme of some of the older BA Troegnator and BA Flying Mouflan batches:

    Last year's batch was $9/bottle, $17.99/four pack, $95.99/case.

@oneraindog were a different type of barrels used or some other factor to affect the pricing so much?

Interesting answer on Instagram from Troegs:

troegsbeer@rjonas80 Good question. A limited amount will be available to ship to any state where Tröegs is sold, so if you’d like to get some but can’t get here, ask your favorite local bottleshop to put in an order. That will likely take a few weeks."

Didn't the Barley Wine get cheaper the one year because it was in 2nd use barrels?

Idk the answer to that, but 2 weekends ago I picked up a 4 pack of the BA Flying Mouflan dated 03/2016 and it was phenomenal. I'm not sure how it was fresh, but I think that year on it did it good. Tons of oak.
