The Tired Hands version doesn't taste like the descriptions of the Half Acre version I heard about and saw... very thick, hazy and dark, reminds me of Oblivex.

    Nice. Look
Really.... Well shit, I guess I better head over there this evening if there's some left.

There wasn't. I didn't see anything on IG or Facebook besides what they posted days ago. I think you will have to follow Heavy Gem on IG to get any updates. Im assuming Tired Hands wants to keep this completely separate from their IG page.. why?? I have no idea. This was the most low key release I have ever been to. I showed up at noon and was out in about 20 minutes.

I went at 2 and there were 2 full pallets left - and I want to say at least 20 cases of bottles and there was no one in line

Yeah this is great. What a random release.

I am very pleased with the collab, at least in terms of it on tap. Haven't cracked a can yet, prob will sometime this week but yeah I showed up at 11:15 to catch up with someone and was checked out, meal included by 1:00

The tired hands heavy gem is pretty great. Does remind me of some of the more recent double ipas. This one seems a little thicker with more bitterness than usual.

Enjoying the IPA now. Real solid. Definitely looks different in pictures than the ones posted from half acre

So 5 out of 5, it's solid but I'm having a hard time really picking any individual components out. Everything added up makes for a very rich and enjoyable stout though.

Yeah, I personally enjoyed it less than the Yellow Belly Sundae which was not necessarily a clown to compare it to, but definitely was much more direct in the Peanut Butter Chocolate flavoring, but in such a good way that it was not exhausting

Water chemistry, mash temperature, hopping schedule, and fermentation/dry hopping temp/schedule can make two entirely different beers using the exact same ingredients.

It's my understanding that water, gear, and environment are the only differences. Recipes include hop schedule, mash temp. et al.

I knew Jean was using crack-infused water.

Right, but they only said they used the same ingredients, not the same recipe.

Definitely not feeling compelled to hit this one. Grassman is decent, but certainly not "line worthy". Of course you will probably be able to stroll in at 7pm and grab some.
