What do you call "proper glassware"?

What ever vessel I have handy to pour the beer into. Red solo cups are used by many breweries, who am I to argue.

To me, "proper glassware" is whatever I deem preferable for the style. The curvature is desired for its enhancement of the aromatics, and I like stemware because it allows you to control the rate the beer warms at. I use stemware for IPAs, stouts, quads, and other any style that benefits most from this. However, for my lagers or low abv beers I like tall, thin glasses. Glassware styles were invented the way they were for a reason.

I also like my stanges. I have two nice ones not too big . Both branded. The nonic and shaker pint also make a nice collectible glass.

I have a pilsner glass and a stange for lagers. I also have a few pint glasses for ales, and a snifter for everything else. I try to use the proper glass for the style, if possible.

Interesting. Never heard the term "farmers glass" for that (once) common beer glass shape - I've always heard or seen them called "Hourglass / Hourglass Pilsner" such as in Anheuser-Busch's chart of glass sizes in the 1980s or in a recent Libbey's catalog:

Generally agree, except that some styles were developed the way they are for reasons that have little or nothing to do with enjoying the beer and almost everything to do with convenience for someone other than the drinker, e.g., the Standard Shaker Pint and to some extent, the Nonic Pint.

You might want to reword that (unless you've got a law firm on retainer sitting around doing nothing).

Yes, I think the beer customer deserves to be informed that this beer is different from previous batches.
I am aware of the logistics here. It could be as simple as indicated on the can along with the dates. It could be placing a sticker on the box. It could be....

In my opinion, openly and transparently communicating changes with the customer is the best policy.

    Cheers!

These are all only our opinions, right?

IMO, I think Sixpoint does a better job than most of engaging with and communicating with their drinking public....but, there is only such much that can be done, realistically

Customers should be informed of what they are buying is an "opinion"? I suppose from a purely capitalistic viewpoint that could be argued.
I will certainly agree with that but I will go further and state they could do an even better job. I think we will see 'better' when they announce their May 2017 initiative. Hopefully this will not be an end of their overall continuous improvement process.

What I appreciate about Sixpoint is that they keep trying to fulfill their customer's demands and I am hopeful in the future (beyond May 2017) they will continue to do so.

At one time it was 'impossible' to provide both canned on dates and best by dates but that 'impossibility' will soon be overcome. Hopefully in the future others 'impossibilities' will be overcome as well.

    Cheers to Sixpoint!!!

Jack.....I was responding to your "underlined" opinion comment, but I guess that did not come through as intended....ah well, this was supposed to be a thread about proper glassware, not Sixpoint anyway

the majority of these are in my dining room and kitchen....biggest issue now is I do not have enough shelving up to accommodate the collection, and it keeps growing! Plus i have like 100+ "doubles" of some glasses beyond the 800+....these damn things are like rabbits! Haha!

Haha.....yeah, between all the glasses and my boat collection and book collections, there is hardly room for the cat Stella and I! I lost track of how many actual boats I have now, but there are 6 sailboats in the fleet, 4 canoes, 2 kayaks, etc etc....you get the picture!
