Did Vanilla Vlad see any distro? I remember passing on it last year at OP Binny's. Bought a tequila barrel aged one instead . I'll be up this weekend and wouldn't mind getting one if possible.

I know Open Bottle got it today. Binnys got the Coffee Vlad so I'm guessing they'll get vanilla too

Nice. Coming up Thursday and OB is my first stop (even before family) on the way into town, assuming that my children haven't gone completely insane on the drive. 4 time nomination for Dad of the Year award here. I never seem to win though...

They update their BeerMenus pretty quickly so I'd check that. Also CD Liquors in Tinley also gets all the Hailstorm stuff too. They have Vanilla Vlad right now too.

I was thinking the same thing with Beer Menu. Isn't CD the place that way over charges on things? If it's the same place I posted about in one of the BCBS threads, they wanted some absurd amounts!

You know I've never been there but they have it listed for $18.99. It was $20 at Hailstorm.

I really enjoyed Myshka as well - I'd like to give this one a try.

That might be E&B liquors on Oak Park. I know I inquired last year about KBS, after wanting to get a few more bottles. The guy working said they have it.... I said great, let me get what I can. Rang up two bottles and it twenty something dollars haha. I laughed and walked out.

Awesome! I'm glad to see this happening. I can't throw back many 15% stouts without feeling it the next day. The first time I had Single Shot from TH I was amazed at how much flavor they got into a low ABV stout.

Okay, it was bothering me so I went and dregged the BCBS thread (wouldn't recommend it...woof, but we'll all do it again next year) as I dont want to be critical of a place that I don't know anything about. The place I was thinking of is called Famous Express in Tinley. They wanted 20 for regular and BW, 40 for coffee, and 100 for prop. My apologies to CD. Might be stopping there to give them some business tomorrow!

Stopped at CD earlier to replace the Vanilla Vlad we had the other day. There were a couple left after I took off. Price was 18.99.

Thoughts from anyone regarding FW's Parabola being in 12 oz bottles this year?

I second the FW Parabola question....also when is it suposed to hit distro out this way?

Nevermind. Just did some quick research....the FW parabola release party at the brewery is March 25th, and it will start hitting the FW distribution footprint throughout April. The site I was on listed 12 oz bottles, $9.99 each. Not to bad considering Parabola is underrated as hell in my book.

I like the 12oz format for stouts. I can drink one by myself, even during work week, without worrying about the side effects. And if the stout is on the sweeter side, all the better. Additionally, more people get to have it (more bottles). Id certainly prefer 12oz over 22/25oz.

Mid to late April seems about right, as that is when we saw it last year. If I recall from last year, price was around 15.99 or 16.99 per 650. So it's a slight increase in price, but not too bad. I'll still be looking to grab some up.

Also looking forward to KBS. My wallet always seems to take a hit around April haha

I don't think their most anticipated release is underrated by any means. It does command a ton of trade value, but in previous years Parabola would be gone in a few hours after being delivered. I don't know how the change of format from 22oz to 12 oz will effect availability. You can't even use the first release of the year (Bravo) as a starting point.

Bummer. Won't be up there until this time tomorrow, and looks like it's all gone from from OB. Oh well, can't have 'em all.

I'm all in favor of any BA beer that wants to move to 12 oz format for many of the reasons noted already.

    Maybe Binny's in OP?
