Carton Brewing (March 2017)

Saw a bunch of hop pun cans made it to WF Brooklyn.

 

Cosmonaut is in the Randall on Bananas. Sounds wonderful

 

just got some Hop Pun cans in Bottle King... nice!

 

Walking into the store and seeing cans of Boat, Odub, HopPun, Unjunct and Cosmonaut makes me happy.

 

My Super Buy-Rite tonight got a load of Hoppun (along with Boat/Dubs/Unjunct) but it didn't seem like a lot of Cosmonaut. Bought two packs, two left in the cooler...

 

Which super buy rite would that be? I'm interested in getting more HopPun

 

Not sure about the one he's referring to but North Plainfield on 22 had it yesterday in the fridge.

 

Thanks for the help. That's a bit far for me. I haven't really looked around yet but I will tomorrow. I presume the same stores that got Unjunct and IDIPA are getting HopPun shipments? Wegmans in Mt. Laurel, Roger Wilco in Pennsauken got a bunch of that last time.

 

I can't speak for other stores but the one I mentioned above had Boat, Odub, HopPun, Unjunct and Cosmonaut. They've had IDIPA before as well.

 

I'm hoping some of those places get an ample shipment of HopPun and Cosmonaut. I've yet to try Cosmonaut. I can check a couple of them tomorrow or send my wife today.

On a side note I was down in Cape May last weekend and was surprised and pleased to see Boat, Dub, IDIPA and Unjunct all in the local liquor store cooler.

 

HopPun is tasting awesome. Glad to have this readily available, great, low ABV pale in the rotation all spring.

 

I went up to the brewery this past Saturday and got some Cosmonaut, 07750 and some HopPun. Cosmonaut is a nice RIS. Worth keeping an eye out for.

 

I love Cosmonaut. Just finished off my last one from 2016 about 2 weeks ago.
Bottle King by me had Carton cans last week. I will have to drop by and see if they have some Cosmo and HopPun. If not will have to the Highlands this weekend.

 

I was surprised at how much strawberry flavor was in there considering it was solely from the super galena and the space ice cream. Really well balanced, not cloying at all. Just subtle enough. I'm a space ice cream junkie though so I actually wouldn't have minded if it were super sweet and there were chucks of freeze dried ice cream floating around in it

 

Yep, that's the one!

 

Still some there today after I purchased some Carton stuff.

 

Canals Lawrenceville had 2 four packs of Cosmonaut. I took one. One left! It's in the cooler public facing. No HopPun here but wife confirmed Wegmans in Mt Laurel had some.

 

I've been dying to try this beer since it came around last time and I finally got to this year. The description always evoked childhood memories of class trips to the Liberty Science Center and buying the freeze dried ice cream astronaut food in the gift shop. Even some recent adult memories of buying the freeze dried ice cream in the gift shop at the Intrepid. (Some things never change!)

I guess I'm glad Carton did not go with the freeze dried pizza!

Needless to say, it lived up to my expectations. It's an excellent RIS with a nice twist.

 

Haven't had a chance to try this year's but I'm having one of the '16's and it's damn good. More of a standard RIS now though, ice cream has faded considerably. Gotta say, when I had it at like 8 months it was divine. That's the sweet spot so far for me.
