The Veil Brewing - Richmond

I had no issues grabbing one VIP ticket, but I expected this to be gone by 12:01. Some loading issues and some slow people who couldn't bag 'em.

 

A friend and I were trying - 2 locations, 3 devices. He got our tickets immediately, I was shut out at first. Eventually I could have grabbed 2 GAs on the app but it went straight from "Not Started Yet" to "Sold Out". Eventbrite is a bit fickle for sure.

 

Still available in person if anyone is in RVA today.

 

Yea this was a pleasant surprise, saved a friend of mine that missed out online. Who would have guessed they could just roll up at 1:45 with virtually no line and get tickets.

 

That's pretty much the perfect balance, take care of your locals but allow others the opportunity to purchase a ticket online.

 

This Tuesday March 21st at 4pm we will be releasing two fresh beers in 16oz/4-pack cans and on draft. Here's what's going to be available:

How quickly do you think this weeks release will go? GettInf into town on Friday and hoping the cans are still left.

 

You should be good to get cans Friday on this one. No crazy draw with a lack of hyped release (though these are two great brews - if they're solid batches this is a great one to stock up on). Solid case counts and lower limits.

 

I'm with @oldn00b on this. As long as they keep limits pretty low all week and not change it up much then I think cans will at least last until Friday. Put on top of that many of the locals and fanboys who go to releases every week are now poor from purchasing their anniversary tickets they won't come as strong on this week's release.

We will be selling limited edition Rastal Harmony taster glasses (just under 4oz) today. Exclusively available in the tasting room and will not be available online. This will be the only time we will be printing baby blue ink tasters. If you guys like these, we will get more printed up in other colors and will sell them online too.
We have approx 480 available. $5+tax each. 2x glasses each per person.

 

Is anyone actually interested in that glass for drinking/tasting purposes (as opposed to collecting)? It seems pointless to me, a normal size glass works great for small pours, probably better than that tiny glass.

 

I agree. I would never use it. But Veil knows their loyalists and those who may be visiting for the first time will flip for it.

 

Today's availability. 251 cases sold yesterday. Not a big sales day compared to most others but sold through more than I was expecting them too after not seeing so much activity on the posts. I did see several regulars post about seeing so many new people there. At first I thought it was pretty comical as if they thought noobs were encroaching on their turf or something. But glad to see it was very smooth and a lot of new people were there. Gonna be tough for CT to make it to Friday. I could see Step Dad making it with a handful at opening.

That's actually a lot more than I expected, especially given the limits. Lotsa n00bs stocking up! Or perhaps there was a bit of a "soft" limit - they've done that before.

 

Yeah. I thought I'd be fine getting cans on Friday on my way to NC but now I'm concerned. Might have to try and find a surrogate.

 

I'm sorry ^^ we were pretty confident based on the case count, limits, no Thursday happening etc. Last time they dropped CT they sold 58 cases on Tuesday with a 1 case limit. This is a massive difference. The regulars were likely on to something with a lot of new folks.

There's usually a steep dropoff in sales bought from Tuesday to Wednesday, then further from Wednesday to Thursday. But at those numbers I'm betting at least CT kicks tomorrow or is very low at open on Friday to where they drop the limit on it.

Can't hurt to try to find a surrogate to be sure!

 

What's left today. I see CT easily going tonight. Step Dad will be tight. 115 cases sold on Tues, 52 last night so with 33 left at the same 3x limit it's going to be close.

@Gumbo_gravy & @howopeeps . Looked through some posts from last night regarding cans that may be available today at opening. Don't hold me to it but someone stated there were about 10 cases of Step Dad Chaperone left a little before closing. CT sold out.

If you are looking for another option I would highly suggest swinging by Triple Crossing (Fulton location next to Stone) for their 2 new cans releasing today. You will not be disappointed. They open at Noon.
